Bridgestone Tire COMBO for GL1800 G704/G709
ITEM CODE: WSBRCOMBO,   SKU: WSBRCOMBO

I have the TPMS to help me keep the tire pressure around 41 on the rear and around 40 on the front. I got 14,000 miles on the factory set and 14,000 miles on the second set. When the price went to 329 for the Bridgestone set, I thought I would try the more expensive Elite 3 set for a few more dollars thinking I would either get a better ride or more mileage. I was wrong. As early as 3,000 miles I was seeing cupping on the left and right side of the front tire. At 12,000 miles on the Elite 3 set, I had to replace the front and rear due to significant cupping (when leaning, my wife and I would hear a whining noise). At that time (about 40,000 miles on my bike), I went back to the Bridgestone tires and currently have about 12,000 miles on this set. Today, with the fathers day special, I just bought another set of Bridgestone tires since I anticipate having to replace them within a couple thousand miles. (Consistently getting about 14,000 miles per set) I saw another review by someone regarding tar road repair strips being slippery and agree that if you are riding in the Houston heat like we do from time to time (with cooling vests), those tar strips are slippery but I do not think any tire will make a difference since the tar is starting to melt at those temperatures. (I try to avoid the tar strips on the road.)

Bridgestone Tire COMBO for GL1800 G704/G709

This was my second set of these tires. The tar strips that they patch road cracks with give you a little wiggle when crossing, so you try to avoid them. I came across a large patch of this tar on a hot day and the rain just went thru, these tires acted like they were on ice. My 02 GL1800 went sideways and was totaled.

I have reached the 12K mark for my stock Bridgestone Tires. They have been ok tires, grip well in the corners, and get decent mileage out of them. But I have two complaints, 1) starting at 3K miles on the front tire, when I lean over in a turn, the tire whines, the more I lean the louder it whines. 2) The front tire has a center line down the middle of the tire, that causes the front of the Bike to wobble when riding on rain grooves on the freeway. The back tire has been good, no complaints at all, but at 12K miles, I notice the rear tire is not round, has the dreaded flat ring down the middle of the tire. I am putting my F6B into the shop this weekend, having some Dunlop Elite 3 Radials installed, which will take care of the rain groove problem.

12V DC GL1800 Fairing Power Socket
ITEM CODE: HO08U55MCA101,   SKU: HO08U55MCA101

I installed this into the left fairing compartment of my bike and installation was quick and easy. You do need a hole saw (check the size on the instructions), but that's as complicated as it gets. As with many other "do-it-yourself" projects on the 'Wing, Honda has made it very easy for owners to do the work. Simple installation, and it works great.

Ordered the Breakaway cruise control for my 13 F6B prior to several 500-650 mile trips. Had been looking at it for some time, just didn't want to pay the price. Finally ordered it and the install went smoothly. The product met all expectations, wish I had ordered it a long time ago. I would definitely order it all over again. Very pleased.

Black Anodized Sidestand Pad
ITEM CODE: RIGL18013,   SKU: RIGL18013

This one is easy. Took a couple of minutes to put it on. It's never come loose. I didn't need to cut, grind, force or any other such activity. I just finished a 15 day, 3500 mile trip and never had a problem with it. The only possible complain I can think of is that it stands the bike up to straight (not enough tilt) on some surfaces. This is because it slips over the exist stand. This is to bee expected. I wish Honda would have actually made a kickstand that works without alteration. How do you make an entire motorcycle so well and screw up the kickstand!!

ITEM: WSRACKBAG

Overall I like the bag. It holds a lot of stuff. It's tough except for the zippers. The waterproof cover storage area is to low on the bag and you can't get to it very well when you're trying to get the rain cover out. When it's raining on you, you try to hurry. I tried to hurry a little too much and the plastic zipper for the storage pocket broke. The construction of the bag and the rain cover would allow the rain cover compartment to be places a couple of inches higher. That would allow for quicker access.

Read numerous posts here about trouble installing this unit on my 2015 Goldwing. Some of the posts mentioned cutting vertical slots in the pan. For me this was not necessary; simply removed the 4 cap screws on the heat shield. You have to tug outward and downward on the back of the shield to allowing to pull outward but it definitely clears the bolts and allows you to slip the oval slots onto the bolt. Job took approximately 40 minutes. Note that sometimes the small washers behind the cap screws seem to lock it in place so give it a good tug. Definitely do not have to remove front lower cowl. Cannot speak to other model years but the 2015 was a easy install and it looks great.

Factory OEM Brake Pads for GL1800
ITEM CODE: PG03702

06.11.2016
After looking at reviews of the many different brands of brake pads and reading tech/performance specs of the many different compounds, I decided to replace my OEM brake pads with OEM quality. Stick with the OEM brake pads. The engineers at Honda have already done the homework for you. These brakes perform well without grinding your disc down and without undue heat buildup.
They were very easy to replace. The front brakes took 25 minutes and at 45k miles, the rear pads were only 1/2 life. I believe at least 15% of my brake pad wear came from my first trip to The Tail of the Dragon.

For those that have installed this how much of a difference will it make on a nearly new 2015? Need to lighten the jarring for my wife on some of the bumps.
