So I thought I'd wait till I put some miles on these new Road W GT tires before I reviewed them. I mounted them the end of June on my '14 GL and have put about 7500 miles on them. 4000 of that was pulling a 500lb Roll-A-Home from Idaho to Arkansas. (with about 80lbs on the tongue) The rear new had 10/32nds of tread and the front had 7/32nds. They seem to handle the curves real well. But if you've got on a grooved freeway, they didn't like that very well at all. The bike would move around somewhat, a lot like the turbulence you experience behind a semi. So ya, even worse if its grooved and your behind said semi. After 7500 miles I still have 4-5/32nds tread (depending on where you measure) on the rear and about 5/32nds on the front. But like I said most of that is pulling a trailer. So at that rate I should get 18,000 out of the front and maybe 12,000 out of the rear if I don't pull the caboose on any more long trips. That is wearing them down to 2/32nds. Before this I rode to Pennsylvania back in June on a set of new BRIDGESTONE'S, 9,000 miles total, and got home with cords showing on the rear (whew...) and about 2/32nds remaining on the front. So I'm gonna say I'm going to get about 25% better tread life on the rear and maybe 40-50% better on the front. As I recall Michelin claimed 25% better life out of this tire. Ya, they are a little more money for a set and you don't get the rebate card, like from Bridgestone. But so far I'm happy. Oh ya, and they did feel pretty sure footed in the rain. So you choose...
Put these balancers on along with new Bridgestones and the bike is smoother that new. 8K miles later, same smoothness and NO tire cupping. I also feel that I'm getting better tire mileage than previous tires. Easy install, but wish I'd known that my front brake rotor bolts were red loctited. After stripping the head of a couple of bolts, I heated the rest with a heat gun and they came right out. Had a week riding delay while I waited for new bolts.
I pull a Bushtec trailer frequently and these mirrors are very helpful as well as giving a slightly panoramic view to the rear/sides. Also I feel that vehicles along side can better see my intentions when changing lanes. For those who have concerns about the vertical line in the mirror, you cannot see it when riding.
I camp alot from the Goldwing. Many times I've walded to the bike and fumbled around in the dark. I love it that theu illuminate the ground around the bike automatically when I walk up to the bike. Also help finding things in the sidecases in the dark. Lovem, and an easy install.
I decided to purchase this flag even though it was more expensive for it appeared to be of better quality. It was. It shipped very quickly and the flag has double-stitching which is excellent. I took the post apart and applied thread-loc to secure the threads/post from vibrating loose which is what happened to a different flag that I had previously purchased......and of course lost on my first trip due to the post loosening and losing the flag. This one is way better and worth the extra dollars.
The lower air deflectors I put on my 23 GW are AMAZING. They take the engine heat from the radiator exhaust area in the hot weather and direct it away from the bike. In the cold weather, you turn them so the engine heat is now being blown inward onto your legs. It actually feels like you turned on the heater in your car... If you have a Wing, BUY these air deflectors.
Well, I already own one but the wife wanted one as well. They don't make this for women so she order one after trying on mine. She loves it. She and do I wish there was a front pocket however.
These pads in my opinion are just as good as the OEM’s how the fraction of the cost.
Grateful the container is enough to do the job (without needing another quart).
Disappointed! Purchased in April of 2024 and installed on my trunk. Looked and worked well, however didn’t last. Fixture failed within the first year. Tail light no longer dims and is always bright like I’m pressing the brake. Checked signaling to make sure this was not an issue with the bike, but sadly if I provide power to the tail light wire, I get full bright LEDs. No clue how I’m going to remove this from the bike, so now I’m stuck with it. Learn from my experience and avoid this product.
Looks good, fits well, easy install.
Easy to put on . Just peel off the backing of the tape and hold for a few seconds. Makes big difference. Much better than the dull black rubber. Yes they cost more than they should but what Goldwing accessories don't!
