ITEM: SG01200

Cheap plastic units looked good enough when installed. They installed easily enough. Then I discovered that the attachment mechanism is stamped steel and does scratch the clearcoat. However, I was most unhappy with the limited range of adjustability and therefore could not adjust them to provide any value for me. So I removed them and sent them to the trash bin. Sure glad they were inexpensive.

With 22K miles on the ODO my Wing's handling and ride had deteriorated so much I was thinking of parting ways...just kidding. Can't give up the amenities. So the only solution was to break out the AMEX and drop some cabbage on progressive front and rear springs, fork rebuild kit, all balls, Kuryakan gen II fork brace and new Conti Motion tires. All i can say is WOW! The bikes attitude has changed. It holds it's head up higher no matter how hard I push it into a turn. This new attitude allows faster turns with unbelievable confidence....dare i say BMW like. And the ride is now perfect; supple and controlled...all harshness is gone while continuing to give just the right amount of feedback in the bars. Love it.

All Balls Steering Bearings for GL1800 & F6B
ITEM CODE: TR416233,   SKU: TR416233

With 22k miles on the ODO i figured it was time to attend to this beast so i can return to the Tail of the Dragon and do it justice. Before I changed the bearings I raised the from wheel and was able to move it 1/8 inch front to back...all due to worn bearings. After changing the bearings snugging with 27 ft-lbs torque all the slop is gone. Steering is firm and precise now. Thanks all balls.
