Belly Pan for 2018+ Gold Wing
ITEM CODE: WSGW2018BP,   SKU: WSGW2018BP

The first time I looked underneath my 2022 Honda Gold Wing, I was amazed that there was no protection from road debris hitting the bottom of the motor. After watching several YouTube videos on belly pans for the Gold Wing, I purchased the one from Wing Stuff. It is robust, lightweight, and uniquely shaped to fit snugly in the right location under the Gold Wing. The instructions are good, and the installation should have been simple. The back of the belly pan has a unique mounting bolt assembly that works exceptionally well. But the two front brackets marked left “L,” and right “R” are poorly manufactured. They are not bent and angled correctly and require significant manipulation and rebending to get them to work. The significant bracket adjustment might throw the average do-it-yourselfer into a quandary. The other thing of interest is the instructions indicated that you could slip the front of the belly pan under the plastic cowling for a smoother look. Unless my Gold Wing is unique, I would not recommend this. When I tried to do that, the Belly Pan put significant pressure on the cowling, which caused it to become decoupled (separate) in places, and the Belly Pan rested on the engine at the centerline. I don’t think having the aluminum belly pan rubbing against the engine is sound engineering. The belly pan installs nicely below the cowling, allowing for a slight clearance in the 1/8” to 1/4” inch between the engine and the aluminum belly pan. Adding a belly pan to the Honda Gold Wing is an excellent idea. If Wing Stuff got some brackets that would install without requiring significant bending and manipulation, they would have a superb belly pan offering. Overall, Wing Stuff makes quality parts, and it would be nice if they addressed the left and right bracketing issues. So, in conclusion, I give the Wing Stuff Belly Pan an excellent rating for the actual pan design, an excellent rating for the rear mounting installation hardware, and, unfortunately, needs improvement rating on the left and right front brackets.
