Functional with some modification.
Sorry only 3 Stars for this one. It will not fit securely on the leg of the side kickstand without some modification, nothing major. I simply took a roll of black electrical tape and wrapped several loops around the spot where the clasps were to be placed to give an extra 1/16 inch of thickness to the area before tightening the clasp. It has worked flawlessly. If this product were to come with a 1/16 inch rubber pad on each side inside of the clasps/clamps it would get 5 Stars every time. |

Mediocre
I had a similar experience to Tim, below...I've tightened the "make sure you don't over tighten" 3x, if it loosens up again, I'll throw it in the trash. Nothing less awesome than taking a mellow corner and hearing grinding as the kickstand hits the ground. Kuryakyn, please redesign this before someone gets hurt. |

universal kickstand extender
without a doubt this is the sorriest piece of junk I have ever purchased. I own a lot of Kuryakyn products and have a wish list for many more. All have been great and I am happy with all except this thing. The directions say: don't tighten this too tight or it will bend and crack the chrome. Yup! That is true. The alternative is to not tighten it so it flops around drags the ground, scrapes the road etc. I tried to mount it to my stock kickstand on my 2013 Goldwing. It is now laying in a corner of the garage where I threw it. Absolutely useless!! |

Kickstand Extender
Mine continued to loosen over and over again and after continued tightening of the BSCS allen head bolt it stripped. Went to the local ACE Hardware store and purchased the 1/4"-20 x 3/4" Chrome bolt but with the the Hex Head end. Able to securely tighten with a ratchet wrench--$2.50 fix! |

Not so great
Does make access to the stand easier with floorboards, but mine kept coming loose - metal actually too soft and bent causing the first one to fall off going down the road. I know it sucks, but a dab of JB Weld on all contact points made the second one work for me - does drag with hard cornering... |

will not lock into place
This kickstand extender drag on the ground when going around corners and leaves a sharp edge that can cut into your boots or leg if you are unlucky and the clamping system does not work comes loose all the time |

Major Scraping
I bought the floorboards and heel/toes shifter kit from Kuryakyn along with the kickstand and extender. Floorboard great, kickstand great in keeping the bike more upright over the OEM, but the extender, disappointed. No matter how I position the extender, I scrape on normal cornering in town. I live in Colorado and take full advantage of our mountain roads. I have had this three days, and have started wearing down the extender lower corner. I scrape my floorboards when carving, with the extender, I scrape sooner and some of my reaction has been to back off my riding. Not going to happen. Not sure what to do short of removing it. |

Update to Recent Review
This is an update to my review below since I’ve received a couple of requests to provide a picture of where I inserted the screw which corrected the issue of the Kickstand Extender coming loose . Here is a picture https://screencast.com/t/XoM0PQ8AYMe of the screw I inserted which will absolutely prevent the extender from moving from the position it is in when you insert the screw. I hope this helps. |

Kickstand Extender Fix
Like many other reviewers I bought this because I have the Kuryakyn floorboards which I love but require a kickstand extender unless you want to lift the left floorboard to put the kickstand down. I read the reviews before buying and decided to do so based on the assumption I would apply the red Loctite. The Locktite worked for about 1,000 miles before the extended portion began to swivel. I was able to resolve the issue by drilling a hole through the area where the two pieces connect and then placing a screw into the hole. I drilled from underneath and was careful not to drill the entire way through to the top for aesthetic purposes. I then used a screw that was much longer than needed and cut it to be flush with the bottom of the extender after inserting it using Loctite. Since the screw head has been removed you can’t tell it is there unless you crawl under the bike and look closely. I now have over 15,000 miles without issue. I wouldn’t buy these again if there was another better option but I haven’t found one and was able to get these to work after about ½ hour of work. |

Kickstand Extender
I was a bit hesitant to order based on some of the reviews. I previously purchased Kuryakyn Kickstand #7104 and the floorboards and thought I would give this a try. It took just a couple of minutes to install and I am more than pleased. I had no problem with the bolts being too long or coming loose. The OEM kickstand on my bike was a bit samller diameter and I see where the extender would not tighten down as it should. |
