Directions are a little short but with help did it in just over 2 hours. (You don't have to remove the trunk). The only short coming I saw is why only 1 of the capicators is waterproof would think that all 3 should be waterproof. I added some super glue to the grommet to hold it together. |

I should have checked Google like Gary suggested, removing the trunk was a real pain! Actually, putting it back was the real pain. Make sure you note down exactly where the existing harnesses path go even if it looks obvious when you unplug everything because it might not be that obvious when you put everything back together. Or better yet, follow Gary's advice. Another big waste of time (my fault) is finding where the capacitor modules go. There are 3 of them but 1 is different. That's the one I was using when looking for the two front matching plugs. The only similar plug in front is for the hand grip heaters. After a few hours of frustrations I opened up the maintenance manual and realized I was looking for the wrong kind of connector (yea, RTFM). After spending the day on this (and a few other accessories), I checked out (almost) everything and re-installed the front panel and seat only to find out that the display now says 'Antenna disconnected'. Somewhere under the covers, the Navi antenna is unplugged... Now I might get lost but at least I can tell my buddies I need a pit stop! |

After your first ride with other CB-ers in a group, the pain from the price will go away. Just being able to communicate and chat while riding takes motorcycling to a whole new level. Nice and clear communications, easy controls at your fingertips makes this integrated system worth it. For me... this is more of a bike to bike communication tool and not a trucker, BREAKER BREAKER 1-9 kinda thing. Many thanks to WingStuff for having the lowest price I could find anywhere and easing the pocket pain! BTW... my local Honda shop installed the radio and antenna for $130. Well worth it after reading many install horror stories. |

Good price. Save more by joining the VIP club for $39. Fully integrated CB for the gl1800. Pricey, but IMHO it was worth the cost. Controls are at your fingertips and the audio is fully integrated with all of the wings other functions like radio and intercom. Installation isn't too bad, but google the web for "gl1800 cb install" to get the skinny on an easier method that doesn't require removal of the trunk. You also do not have to remove the top shelf. You can loosen it and find the connector saving you the trouble of popping all the wires. Get the Hondaline antenna. Installation is straight forward. Setting the SWR require me to trim about 1/2 inch off of the antenna to produce the 2.5:1 or less VSWR across the 40 channels. Works great for bike to bike communications and nice for traffic info on interstates from truckers. It's also a little scary to hear the truckers plotting against the cars and motorcycles, but I'm glad I know when I'm in range of a distraught trucker. My only gripe is the squelch only goes to 20 and it still lets strong signal through. It should stop everything at its top level. |

CB is not such popular used in Chile; you can use it in highway without any other listen to you (you have a free cell-phone :-). But it’s the only way that I can talk with my wife when we travel on the way of our beach house every week end to carry more people. Honda should consider other kind of radio for other countries, such as VHF, GMRS, because they much better. I have to agree that there is no any CB solution can be integrated with GL1800 like this one. They are one for other. Thanks to wingstuffs.com save some dollars. It caused me about 7 hours to install and work quite well. If you have 06-08 airbag GW like mine, you should buy the Service Manual first, because there is no any video on the web to show how to make those removals. The only thing that I found is that when I drive on a stone paved road, there is noise come to the CB when GW shaken by the movement. I think that is come from the crash sensors of airbag system. Does any one have the same “problem”? If anyone need help please let me know. Specially you are in Chile :-) |

Works great, NOT for the faint of of heart on the install. For what you're saving on the parts, (THX to Wingstuff) get a copy of the service manual... You'll need it! |

It's not like you really have a choice... If you don't have a shop manual GET ONE before you start. The direction supplied WILL NOT DO. Even better, find a friend that has done it before :-) Front "tank", cowling, speakers, intrument panel, seat and trunk all have to come off. |
