| I WAS GOING TO INSTALL IT MYSELF. BUT I CALLED KURYAKYN AND ASKED ABOUT INSTALLATION AND THE TECH SAID THAT THERE WAS NO WAY THAT HE WOULD DRILL HOLES IN HIS $18,000.00 BIKE. GOOD ADVICE. I PAID MORE FOR IT, BUT DONT HAVE EXTRA HOLES IN MY TRUNK. BUT IT SURE LOOKS NICE. |

| i purchased the vertical hitch for my 'o6 gl1800 mostly because of the clever idea of how it was mounted. was impressed with the welds and machining of all the parts, except the forward attach points. after reading of other folks having problems with the bags being pushed out of alignment, causing the rear fender panel not to fit properly anymore, i looked for a better way to secure it. first i made a measuring tool to measure the distance between the inside of the forward mounting points pm the frame and then built a jig to hold the mount in place for the new measurement. using a hydraulic press i bent the left mount arm a little more at the bend in it and cut the right arm just behind the pumpkin, at the heatsheild of the right muffler. i then took 1/4 in flat stock to make a splice and welded the two pieces back togeather with the forward portion rotated 180 degrees and offset about 3/4 in to the right. this mod allowed both arms to be mounted inside the frame with about 3/8 clearance between the swingarm and bolt head and clear the pumpkin. i know this sounds like a lot of work but the results was absolutely worth every min. i just finished making the cooler tray mount to go with it and it doesn't even wiggle under 220 lbs. test weight. |
| Factory color matched, looks great and fairly easy to install. It can be scary drilling some holes but the templates are accurate and the finished look is worth it. The added safety of a modulator makes this a must have. |

Itis nice to have some cool water on your body on a hot day. But on a Gold Wing there is not that much air passing through because of the windshield. It owuld be much more effective with more wind. It does feel slimy and it can be bulky. But it is a good value. |

Good value for the money. Nice for hitch to be hidden. Crappy instructions. Google the net and find Bushtek instructions to help you. Best way is just lay the pieces and and test fit. You don't have to drop the mufflers. BUT you do have to remove the little 1/2" tubing cross-piece between the saddlebags at the very bottom behind the rear wheel to get this thing on. Be VERY careful not to strip the holes where the forward part of the frame where the hitch arms go into (the front saddlebad mounts). The holes are threaded into the aluminum frame and you can screw them up pretty quick. Wrassle with it and you'll be happy. Geets |

A nice match with the Kuryakyn driver boards. Beefy and well built. The "transformer" feature allows the passenger to change leg and foot positions (sort of like highway pegs for the passenger) Figuring out how to install them using part of the stock mount (which is required) is a little tricky but, not too bad. You'll know you installed them properly when you raise them and they stay in place. Easy and unobstructed access to the backstand when installed properly. Pebbles wedged in the soles of your passengers boots will scratch the chrome on the inboard part of the mount as they have no pad protection. I'll find some kind of pad to put here for scratch protection. Kuryakyn should put a pad here. |
