I bought the grey/silver for my goldwing! Maybe wingstuff could make a suggestion to the MFG that they should reinforce the rear corners to prevent tearing through over time. The attena brackets may come through? good cover! |
This is without a doubt the lightest and strongest trailer hitch out there for the GL1800. Good directions and photos. I installed it myself on my 06 in a couple hours. Medium mechanical ability is needed. Would follow the recomendation from the directions to unplug and re-route the wires under the seat over the frame near the top mounting/frame points for the hitch arms. Makes it much easier to place and bolt the top mounts and you don't have to worry about the hitch arms pinching or rubbing wires. Totally hidden when tow ball and bar is removed. First rate!
Installation fairly easy except removing the spring clip the holds the rod in the boards. This has to come out to install the spring, ball bearing and race for the fold up hold up mechanism. Do not understand why Kuryakyn does not include these parts in the boards. Would be about a ten minute install if they did.
sturdy made piece of luggage. Nice velcro to attach to the luggage rack to secure the bag down. All around nice.
Its a GREAT add on. Simple to install. It brings out the beauty of the Wing.
This stuff is great! I add this to every order whether I need it or not. I'll always have it handy and wouldn't dare use anything else on my Goldwing. 10 stars!!!
Love the comfort of the floorboards on long trips and they look great, too. Easy to install.
Well the Big Brown Truck finally arrived with mine. I waited until my new Tires were installed at the local cycle shop and rode it home to begin my part of the latest dress-up. The finished product was everything I was looking for. I had to do some trimming on the lower right side plastic spacer on the inside of cover. Without doing this my rotor was exposed. The left side is covered correctly. I very carefully used a pocket knife, due to lack of my rotary-tool. Have not installed the top right side bolt because I wasn't sure if I should remove what looked like a drain or something for a hose fitting. I'll do some more checking on that. It's covered up by the caliper cover and doesn't seem to be causing a problem. These covers do the trick at a price that fits my budget. Though it took some time and patience.
As always, Kuryakyn has a great product. This was easy to install. Did it by myself with no problems. Love the look.
I must be the only person here that doesn't have a wife or co-rider that uses these. But I bought them anyway. Very easy to install and looks great!
I agree with Rooster. Having a template for drilling would be great. Actually 2. One for regular mounting and a 2nd for use with the risers. Missed by that much. Looks great and very solid.
Looks nice. Is well built. Fits right. You gotta have one of these for the weekend picnic rides or just for taking lunch to work. I can fit lunch with drinks + extra water for the ride for the wife and I in here.
