| I am glad I read these reviews before sending the knobs I purchased back. I did not know the secret to installing them (you have to use the sleeves from the old knobs). The first knob I removed the sleeve stayed in the knob. When I placed the new knob on the radio of course the hole was much too big and it didn't work. After reading the reviews I tried again this time removing the sleeve and inserting it into the new knob. When I removed the second knob the sleeve stayed on the radio. All I had to do with that one was align the knob and slide it on. The chrome knobs look great. The reason for the three start? No instructions telling you to reuse the sleeves from the old knobs and the new knobs should have had their own sleeves. After I learned the secret to installing them I had them on and working in less than 3 minutes. |
| Install was very easy, took 20 Minutes, Work Best for me in the furthest back adjustment setting. Recent 430 Mile trip felt like 100. Very nice look! |
| After tearing the "deployed sidestand engine cutoff wire" on a rock while trying to cross a rough patch in the middle of nowhere on my old Vulcan Nomad, I was keen to get some underside protection for the Wing. (Sure beats sitting in the woods, wondering why your engine dies every time you let out the clutch. Thank God for that roll of electrical tape!) This is a well-built, good looking, easily installed piece of gear. I'm glad to have the extra protection. |
| I just installed it and with Steve Saunders video it went without a problem. So dont worry about making the cut in the seat it is an easy install. |
| No need to loosen the mufflers clamps or take out the bold holding up the mufflers on my '05. Not an easy install, but when you are done it seems very solid. Took me about 3 hours working slowly. Needed a second hand to line up a few pieces and had to muscle it a bit. |

| A real "class act", on what this set does with the overall appearance. As others have said, be patient while creating just the right "molding" or "shaping" of the unit, so it fits perfect. Like myself, I'm sure you will experience being blinded by the sun's reflection at some point. |
| I love them, but would like to respond to "rcar1", as to the "fit". Be sure to look very close to both the inside of the OEM knob and/or the shaft, that the knob sits on. The reason,...when I put the first on on, it did not "seat" or "fit", correctly. the second one fit perfectly. I went to get the glue, planning to use it to install the one that did not fit right. Then, I tested the faulty one, on the "other shaft". It fit perfectly,..and when I pulled it off, I noticed a small metal "collar", that allow the shaft to seat snuggly, with the new knob. What had happened initially, the "metal collar", had stayed inside the OEM knob, and I did not see it, due to the dark color, matching the OEM knob color. All was perfect, once the metal collar was installed on the knew chrome knob. These are a must, with the chrome face plate, but plan on being "blinded" by the sun's reflection at some point. |
| One of the nicest items I've added so far. When it comes to it's pricing through Wingstuff, there is simply ZERO competition !!! I can not emphisize the pricing issue enough, since I have found this exact cover elsewhere costing more than twice the amount our "VIP MEMBERS" pay. I must admit that I was a little intimadated about the installation process, bases on the feedback of other Wingstuff members, but cannot relay strongly enough that my install went more than smooth. In fact, no more than 30 minutes were involved, AND, when it came to that pesky molding along side the length of the fairing, that other's struggled with,....well, believe it or not, I didn't even have to take it off at all. If you are gentle with it, the molding can be lifted just enough, WITHOUT removal, to slide the bra's "retainer tab" under the molding, and it holds perfectly. I wanted to get the cover on, before taking a great road trip mid June, into Colorado's beautiful Four Corners, Durango, and Telluride mountain region. I'll be updating my photo gallery soon, to show off the new "pretty's" If you can't already tell, I'll give this feature a big thumbs up !!! |

simple and functional@ the only reason I don't give these a 5-star is that they, unlike others, don't come with grommets. a quick trip to the hardware store fixes that though. |
