15 min install...pretty smooth, wear gloves to prevent cuts.
These look great and work as advertised...4 stars only because the left side ratcheting is looser than the right which may cause issues down the road with continued use. I'll contact National Cycle and see what they tell me.
Very good set of grips and even if you have small hands it will make the difference. I had the slide over grip to make my last trip and it helped but these seem be even more comfortable. The only draw back is they are a pain to put on, ended up using a couple of hand clamps to get the tabs to come together.
Ooops! I should have updated with my experience/opinion regarding Avon's Cobra tires. I posted an original review dated 9/1/2009. As mentioned, I yet noticed wobble at 15-20mph. Went back and had dealer change rear tire. Boy, what a difference. I now have 11,000 miles on these tires and yet feel good about them. I just came off a 2,400 mile trip through the mountains including the "Tail" in N.C. where my max speed on the Tail was 59.5mph, avg 33.5mph. What can I say, the tires grip when its important, and they are smooth on the highway. When these wear out, I'll buy another set!
This product is a piece of crap. It is the usual Kuryakyn bull...nice chrome and material, but piss poor engineering. It will not stay firmly attached to the kick stand without some sort of set screw or other attachment to make it sturdy. Also, the way the tip sticks out, you could cut your ankle if the stand is up and the bike is moving while your feet are down. Don't buy this crud! Look for a better engineered product.
This product works wonderfully on the wing, just make sure to keep it off the windscreen.
I just used this on a 4,000 mile trip, I used it for bulky lightweight items such as the wingstuff full motorcycle cover, rain gear and sandals. The forward pockets are tall enough to store 16.9 oz water bottles, sunscreen, etc. and are passenger friendly while moving, as are the side pockets that are axpandable from flat to about a 3" wedge shape for larger items. I used the rear vertical pocket for maps, there is a 6" x 20" mesh pocket on top of the U shaped main opening. The rain cover fits snug, no flapping in the wind. I personally would have used the velcro type straps on the sides instead of the strap and buckle fastening, but that's personal. I really like this bag and thank all the previous reviewers for helping me make the decision.

I like the oil and I like the fact that it costs so much less here that at the dealer. What else can you can about it? Sometimes when it is the only product you use, it becomes all about the price! |
Easy to install and the finish it first rate. If you are going to do a SWR on it, the connections will be under the seat and you can get RCA to RS 232 adaptors at Radio Shack to adapt it to any SWR meter.
Installation was fairly easy, however I am good with tools. When I had to drill the hole for the wires to go through the trunk, to loosen the 2 bolts in the front completely and then just losen the back ones you can lift the front of the trunk and put a 1x2 board under it to drill the hole. As it is the front two bolts in the bottom of the trunk hold the bottom of the antenna mounts. Good time to do the air filter if you have not done it yet.
This bag is very roomy, and never leaked water even during a heavy rain and snow storms while caught out in the middle of no where. I grade the attachement as very good but difficult to quickly apply and remove. The stitching on my bag didn't last even one year. I don't know if that is consistant with other buyers but Wingstuff replaced this with a Kuryakyn bag at no additional charge to me. I love Wingstuff customer support. I would have stayed with this bag but they were out of stock and I needed a new top bag asap for another trip. Only four stars because of the poor quality stitching in more than one area of the bag. Also had little to no sun exposure and very few miles on it before it ripped at the stitched seams. None of the material or zipper had any issues which tend to make me believe the bag is still a good quality bag just the thread in my bag was not so good.
This is a must have for the serious Wing rider. If you are going to travel 500 or more miles a day this will end your back aches. I just completed a trip from the West to East Coast and had no back pain what so ever. Before I couldn't go more than a few hours before the pain was agonzing. The installation is very easy with the given instructions. Just make sure you take your time and trial fit everything so you understand how it is all going to work before you start cutting into your stock seat. When it is all said and done this backrest looks stock. I can't say enough good things about this backrest. Of all the upgrades I have made to my Wing (which are considerable) this has to be the most important upgrade for comfort.
