As others noted, it is an easy install. A couple of months back I installed an F4 +4 windshield which significantly reduced the driver buffeting on the Wing. It was because of this that I now noticed the wind on my hands much more than before. Add these and that wind current is eliminated. You can even feel the difference on your arms and shoulders. Then if it gets warmer, you can adjust the hand wings to neutral or direct the air towards you which is very helpful when the temps start climbing. The dark smoke color blends very well with my black colored Wing, too.
These balancers in combination with a Kuryakyn 2nd generation fork brace has transformed the front end stability on my 08 Wing. Handling was always acceptable, but now it's thrilling. I did not think there would be a difference, but there is.
Absolutely the first thing I added to the trike and I've been completely satisfied since. They look great and work as well as I could hope for. Like other's I've had a problem with rubber coming off but Rivco sent new ones with no questions. Customer service is the best I've seen for a long time.
These fit well, and have performed as expected. I've had them on the bike for about 18 months/17,000 miles. When we took them off to change the spark plugs last month, however, there was RUST. LOTS of rust. The inside of the clamps are not coated and are iron, not steel. All of the bolts had signs of rust. (And my 2 cents to the thread---why package SAE sized hardware for a GoldWing??) I cleaned up the clamps and oiled them, but it is only a matter of time before the rust eats through the chrome on the engine bars. Good product, poor long-term prospects. Even with the rust--3 stars.
Had to mount mine on top and glad I DID iT realy deflects alot of wind.I dont like the color but they work real good. I just made a 3600 mi ride to SW Fla and was glad to have them in Ft Myers traffic. I just wish I could get them in Chrome
If you live in Texas, the Bucky's gas station cup (34oz) is the same cup. Just snap your butler lid on to it! .99 cent refills on all your drinks, forever. It has paid for itself over the years I have had the cup.
Update on this product I gave this 4 stars due to weak wiring harness near the lights themselves. I learned that they can come on done from the connections near the lights when pulled on or any kind of tug from regular wear closing the saddlebags many times over even if you have the wire tied down correctly. I used my own splice addaptors to fix the problem. If you have a side that goes out for no apparent reason that means you have a loose or broken connection. No big deal don't buy another set wear you can just find the bad connection and fix it yourself for just a couple of bucks. Otherwise a great product makes the bike standout.
Just another great product.Make sure you prefit and clean before installing,Had to remove gearside floorboards to finish the install on that side.clearance of the floorboards to tight. I'm very happy with the look. You will not need to replace the Weld covers. Just store them somewhere else just in case you have to go back to original framework look.
Nice product, was a little tight on the mounting to side panel but suggest tightening very slow and careful. Makes the bike stand out alot.
Like these pegs. Heavy and feel real durable. One thing that stopped me when I took them outta the box was you need SAE Allen Wrenches. Got Metric for the Wing, and I dont understand why they were constructed using SAE. So had to go buy new ones. Also the directions are not that great but the video helped a lot. Now to get the right adjustment for my legs.

Revamping my earlier review. After a few hundred miles or so, the floorboards become loose and "wiggle" back and forth .. making riding with them uncomforatable, not to mention somewhat dangerous. Even after using some lock tite, the boards still wiggled back and forth. I took them off and am back on the stock pegs .. much more comfortable riding with these. Nice try Kuryakyn, but I would let these wait until further testing can be done. |
This is another addendum to my original review. These units call for a thread lock to be used on the special bolts threaded into the fairing so that the screws afixing the wind wings hardware will break loose separately. BE VERY VERY CAREFUL WITH WHAT YOU USE FOR A THREAD LOCK! I took my bike to a dealer for some warrantee work and they managed to break all four tabs off the fairing lowers. I used blue thread lock and had no problems with removing the screws for maintenance with an allen key but they used an air ratchet and the extra torque ruined my lowers. This is not Quantum's fault but I can see where it may be repeated.
