This backrest is very comfortable with easy adjustment to sit up or back (easy install). I installed this backrest on my 08 GL1800 w/airbag & heated seat used this site https://www.goldwingfacts.com/1800Utopiabackrest2.htm which helped a lot seat heat works no problems. Pay attention to the angle and the direction of the blade that you use. I started with a long carving knife just to start the hole in the foam and finished with Sawzall - Reciprocating Saw Blade. Comfort,Great looking, Nothing in the way of the Passenger. |
| Have had it now for about 2 years. It greatly has saved the bottom of the bike from all of the debris on the road that gets kick up and possibly puncture the plastic tanks underneath. Took it through death Valley in Aug (122 degrees) no problems with the heat, also, Honda did not charge me more or complain about the removal of the pan for maintenance purposes. |
| Easy to install. I filed down the edges before I started so no cut fingers. I live in the desert and I am concerned about a heat issue. If one does present itself I will let you know. |
| I Like this windshield better than any other that I have tried. It looks great on the bike makes it look much more sporty, I have received many compliments on the bike since installing it. Does a good job of deflecting the wind and during most weather conditions looking over the windshield improves my vision. The only negative is during rain. It does not deflect the rain from your face, resulting in the need for a full face shield, and ultimately a wetter ride. |

I installed mine in the late winder last year. Not a good Ideal to install them in the cold. Its hard to close the trunk lid. Removed them and reinstalled them in the late spring let the hot summer mold them to the trunk. They stop the trunk shake that could damage lights and what ever you put in or on your trunk. PS when installing them put a little oil on them and push threw the hole and hold it with some pressure and wait. Once any part slip threw wiggle it, it will go in. |

I have had these grips for a few months now and just got to drive my 2010 GL 1800 in the coldest weather yet in Wisconsin this year.I give these grips a 4 star because they do take a bit of time to warm up. I just rode home in 27 degree weather for a 40 minute ride. It took about 10 minutes at 55 mph for the grips to warm my hands. I guess what more can you ask for when I'm driving in below freezing weather. Very nice grip in warm weather and very easy install. Have not had any problems with the chrome. Wing stuff had them to me in just a few days. Thanks Wing Stuff |
