| Update on the Avon Cobras... Replacing both my front and rear tire with another set of Avon Cobra's. The old Cobras had slightly over 17,000 miles on them. I ride fairly aggressive and the previous set served me extremely well. I highly recommend the Avon Cobra for usage on any GL1800. |
| Just got my order. The #AO458731 Chrome side covers for a 1983 gl 1500 did not fit. 3 of the 4 pegs that go into the gommets fit. The rear bottom peg is about 1/4the inch off. I had to jerry rig both covers in order to get them to fit properly. After I got them to fit they looked ok, but the hassle I had to go through was uncalled for. LLOYD ARNOLDI ([email protected]) |

Didn't Honda put these on the wings sooner? Had the Dunflops on my 2001 VTX, 2006 & 2009 Wing & had nothing but problems with cupping. 2001 & 2006 were so bad at 5k that I swapped out both frt & rear's with plenty of remaining tread depth. Just didn't feel safe on them. 2009 got 9K & should have replaced sooner, no support from Dunlop, heck I've gotten 15K out of Metz's, so sorry boys, 3 strikes and your out. Just installed the Stones & while to early to say with absolute certainity, I'm already liking them. Smoother ride, and better grip in the twisties. Longevity yet to be determined, but from all research I've done appears most are very pleased with performance and tread life. Can't put a 5 on them until I've run them to the wear bars so time will tell. Got several long trips scheduled this summer, so by end of the driving season should have a good feel for durability & performance. |
| Nice to see something shiny on that part of the bike, wasnt happy with the dull plastic finish. About 20 minutes to install, just be careful and dont break of the plastic tabs when removing the cover. See pic in profile |
