Good looking, useful addition and easy to install; just print and follow the PDF instuctions. I liked how the wiring is designed to fit the standard heated grips socket, which is directly under the standard panel, thus making the connecting up of the meter very easy.

Overall the design is moderate and mounting good. Units are versatile in placement options. Downsides are: 1.) Low quality chrome - blistering and corrode easily (I DO NOT ride in wet weather FYI). 2.) Pegs are flat horizontal so not too comfortable. Should angle to match feet-bottom angle like the floor boards can. A very simple design mod to achieve but . . . I guess overall good but with the chrome getting so ugly in 5 months time, it is a shame (or sham). |
Had these installed by dealer last September when I purchased the bike.I have small hands and thought they would be to large but no issues so far. Had to ride home from dealer in late November,34 degrees, tried the grip heaters and could barely feel any heat thru my heavy gloves, but hardly ever use the grip heaters so no issue...Hope Kury has solved chrome peeling problems on these items as most of their stuff is generally good quality....Time will tell..
I've used other brands on my 2nd bike to try to reduce replacement cost and learned my lesson(s). Can't beat OEM. Also can't beat the price.
Run the same Oil (different weights) in both my bikes. Can't beat the smoothness this oil provides.
Always loose or damage one over a riding season. Never hurts to have a spare that fits.
I didn't really think I would need and that it was only for old guys. But if you have highway pegs, the backrest allows you to stretch out on those long runs. The design also compliments the existing OEM seat. Easy install. Just remember: Measure twice. Cut once.
As other reviewers have said, it is ridiculously easy to install. It also looks OEM (I.e. It looks like the bike came out of the factory with the backrest already fitted). Well done Kuryakyn. I did a lot of research before buying this backrest because it's not cheap. It is fully adjustable to just how you want it - forward & back, up & down, and tilt. I am very satisfied. I have had a similar Kuryakyn backrest on my Honda VTX1300 for many years now and love it. This will be no different. Please note though that my wife only gave it 4 stars from a back seat perspective because her legs touch the chrome support. Not a biggie though.
Only 4 stars I'm afraid. The accent itself is absolutely 5 star but the install is tricky if you want it perfectly lined up. Unlike the fender accent (see my review) there is no tab to guide you. There is just the shallow depression in the fairing where it sits. I spent considerable time getting them both lined up with tape and marks at the corners. It's worth it because if they are not lined up it will bug you forever - and once this tape touches the bikes plastic it ain't coming off !! Don't let me put you off though. They are worth it, just be patient.
This is a very nice touch. The hole in the front fender needs something chrome and this little piece does it nicely. I think the price is high for what it is (i.e. small) but hey, it's my bike and I want it !! These stick on chrome accents can be very tricky to get on and lined up correctly, but this one has a continuous tab around the inner edge that exactly matches the hole in the fender. So as long as you are co-ordinated enough to get it in the hole (and if you're not the it's time to give up riding !!) then you can't go wrong. Hence the 5 stars.
While I agree with some of the other raters that the price for these "plastic" covers is excessive, they really do dress up the side of the bike. installation is a snap maybe around 10 min. to install. The chrome finish is very nice and seems to be a good quality job. Another plus for Kury is that they include some optional self stick mounts in case you want to install lizard lights or other back-lighting behind the covers. Highly recommend these covers.
