Absolutely love this helmet. It's the first helmet I've owned that fit my head perfectly. I was concerned that it would be too hot in the Mojave Desert this May, but with my Windbender down in it's lowest position, the airflow into the helmet's airscoop with great & I never did get too hot. Highly recommend this helmet for those with the right shape head. Quality is top of it's class!
Problem of "dirty threads" seems to be resolved, no evidence on my rack. Instructions were not well written and it took me three hours to install. Problem was the angled washers and matching up to the angle cut of each leg. Caused binding when trying to mount the screws, plus instructions say leave inner liner in place. Made it impossible to get installed due to binding of screws. When I used large washers on lid inside, between liner and lid all went together much easier. Hopefully the large fender washers will prevent cracking of the lid. I would not try this but pay a dealer next time to install, although it might be easier the second time around.
I purchased this product for my 2012 GL1800. The good: Cubby is versatile as it will securely hold a 20 oz soda bottle. With the side covers on it securely holds my garage door opener, billfold, and accessory wire (Scala rider charging cords and the like.) The bad: while fit is good, it fits quite loosely compared to the OEM cover. This is the only reason the product didn't get five star rating. The fix is purchasing 3/8 inch foam tape from a home supply center and placing it around the inside of the cover to take up the slop, and prevent unwanted movement of the cover.

Tom is spot on with his review, I love them in the cold weather, but when it gets warm i can't keep them in place, it stated not to over tighten them, also i have continuously tighten them to find that point so they stay, Before it breaks, hopefully. sorry for the double post. |
Had bought these but not installed. Had dyna beads put in with new tires a few years back and liked them also. Put these on recently and am very very impressed. Totally smooth ride. I'm sure will extend tire life by quite a bit! If you do not mind spending the extra money, these are worthwhile.
Installed these hand wings prior to my 10 day road trip and was shocked on how well they kept the wind out of the cockpit area. A cinch to install and no more wind buffeting across the arms or base of the helmet. If you do a lot of open road traveling on your wing, you need these hand wings. I cannot comment on how the passenger area is affected as I have not rode two up since the installation.
The directions for the installation is worthless. Had I not looked at the reviews I would not have known to take off the plastic white covering. At first you would think that nothing needs to be removed. Also, when you take off the two side bolts all you have to do is pull the plastic towards you and it will pull away from the screws and allow you to fit the pan over them. I took off the bolts and everything was still tight. I was afraid of breaking the plastic pulling two hard. It is a great sense of security for your bike.
This thing is awsome. Installed on 10 min. I had been chasing a rattle up front. The shim made the bike ride so smooth that rattles are gone. Bike (2013)always felt like it had no front suspension but now very smooth. Highly recomend to all who are tired of having their teeth jared out.
Looks and works great. You might have issue if you purchase a bottle that is larger than 2 1/2" but over all I'm pleased. I do like the fact that the holder is on the bike and not on the bars. A great use of space.
Took the advice of some other reviewers and used the tie wrap, C-clamp and Windex. It took about a half an hour to complete the installation and ran into no difficulties. Thus far, there has been no issue with the chrome peeling and they look great! The best part is that I don’t get hand numbness on the long rides where I could not use the cruise control. As for the heat transfer, I maxed the output until the grips were nice a toasty, then cut it back. I highly recommend these grips and take your time when conducting the install.
Had my doubts, but this had been a godsend. I can feel air flow which really helps in keeping dry on the long rides where comfort is everything. Also, it allows me to adjust on the seat with ease. A real 'Monkey Butt" preventer.
Very durable and saves the bike from getting scratched
