I use the butler for two purposes. To be able to have a beverage available. In the morning I put in hot coffee. 3oz of French Vanilla and fill up with Coffee. Around noon or so, I fill it with ice and buy a couple of energy drinks. The ice costs nothing with the purchase. I fill the Butler and sip during my rides. Another important use of the cup is to make sure I get off the bike every 100 miles or so. If you are over 50 you know what I mean 10-100. I think it important to make sure you stretch your legs and being forced to stop at a rest stop for relief accomplishes that. I just upgraded to a 2014 Air Bag model. I checked with Butler and while they did indeed note that it will fit, they also reminded me that Honda also does not recommend any attachments to the handle bars due to the deployment of the air bag. Made sense not to put anything over the top of the air bag---Right?? However I still wanted to use it. I went to Alro Steel and bought some 3/8 plastic like Butler uses. I remade the bracket that mounts to the handlebar higher and a bit wider like 3x5". Then I mounted the cup holder on the back of the new mount vs the front like Baker does it. The result is that the cup and holding bracket is well in front of the handlebar and does not interfere with the windshield when turned to the right. I also made sure the new handlebar mount was wide enough (3") to stop a careless turn of the cup hinge to be over the air bag. the result is that I can use this on a Air Bag model and no part of the mount or cup (except in a tight left turn) is over the bag at any time. I feel pretty comfortable that it is safe. |
| I have not experienced what Tom and others speak of with their opening and being loose. NO QUESTION that on previous models (I have had three other sets on different wings) once the air caught it, SLAM OPEN. My new wings however have a stop type clip that clips on the inside of the mirror and acts as a stop for the wings opening past the effective point. The wings are pretty much either open or closed but that gets back to Tom's review. When I want them, I want them open and the new stops (put these on at Americade two weeks ago)help a lot. I would contact Baker and get some of the stops. think of it as a small bumper on the mirror where the wing hits as a stop so that it does not over open. |
| I have had four wings and put Baker wings on all of them and for a very good reason. You need both side wings. The smaller lower to keep the heat from the engine off of you and the upper to open and drawn in air. Of course during the winter, I reverse which is open. The new ones I just got at Americade were the smoke Polycarbon. I have had my share of breaks or missing parts but Baker has always been fair and even more so in sending me replacement parts. They have not changed a lot over the years so parts are pretty interchangeable but Baker stands behind them all. I will go to the mirror wing section and report on them as well but for me, the mirror wings are just as important as the side wings. Jury still out on the lower wings mounting to the engine guard. I have not quite figured out what they really do and I am not a person to take things on and off the bike due to weather so I have not used yet |
| With the grips being 2" higher than stock, are there any issues with blocking of the mirrors? When I put a closed fist on top of my grips now, all I see is knuckles in my mirrors. Any input is appreciated. |
| I installed each side of these with two very small stainless screws installed from the bottom on both sides by drilling the plastic. not visible and can easily be removed later with not visibility of the screws. Forget the gluing not worth the trouble and the worry about glue coming loose is a high heat area. 5 minutes and your done- just ride.. Air flow off these is slightly different than without but I didn't find an issue with that.. |
| I've added this and the chrome center engine cover. The cowl fit perfectly for me. IT looks great- one of the best improvements in appearance that I could recommend. Seems to be very good quality- fit was super on my 2008. |
| This is a nice shirt. But the size does not run true. I wear a XL so I ordered one. Way to small like 2 sizes . So order accordingly |
| I have had to use this plug setup 2 times on my pickup and it worked great... Then on a trip I got a rear flat on the bike and I though okay no big problem. Got everything setup to use and went to use the plug but I could not get the plug to go through regardless of how I held my mouth. The plug stuck in the shoot and I could not get it out but luck was smiling on us, a person coming by afford to help and he had a plug kit just like mine. His worked and we finish the last 450 miles with no problem. I am contemplating about buying another one and a new rear tire. Will be caring the old plug style for a backup. |

Install was easy. Good thing since my order came in short, My order was for the 2-2oz kit & 1-1oz bag... 2oz front & 3oz rear... I got a 3-1oz kit & 1-1oz bag. I put 3oz rear & 1oz front.... I used the engraver trick. Held the bottle up & held the side of the engraver tip to the stem & they flowed in nice. Even with 1oz short in the front I could feel a big change in the ride. I have an E3 rear that was starting to cup after 1000 miles... I do a part #2 later on that after some miles. |

The first time you scrape a speed bump with the new SS belly pan, you will instantly realize how much added protection is there. Heads up, if you install your own, the edges are SHARP, wear leather gloves when installing. Trust me, it is better to put them on before you start. |
| I have people asking me where I purchased this product all the time. I use one to sit on and one for the backrest. I don't take them off till it's in the 40's. Great product! |
| Right now it looks great! Easy install. Time will tell if the chrome holds up. |
