Installed these on my front fender and adds a nice look to an empty hole!!! A real nice fit!!!
I bought these a couple of weeks ago. I initially didn't like them and in fact I was getting ready to take them back off and sell them for 75 bucks on Ebay because they weren't comfortable for my size 12 foot. I decided to try one last thing and angle them down in the front just a little. I honestly didn't think it would make a difference but whoa!! it made all the difference. Much more comfortable at an angle than they are level. I love them now that I have them adjusted for my comfort.
This cover is great to keep the fob from scratching your bike. However, after the initial installation I found that the buttons were not so easy to access especially when wearing even thin gloves. The solution was to remove it from the fob and just like most cell phone covers, only have the back and fob outline covered. I cut along the two button line and across with a razor blade and across so ~1" square was removed. I guess you could take the cut down to the long emergency button too but I didn't. Problem solved!
Like others, I was not so sure about cutting into my stock seat to add this backrest. However. the instructions were good and there are a couple uTube videos available that gave me enough encouragement. The installation went easier than expected but be careful if you have a heated seat. WOW! what a difference in comfort!!! Before the backrest even some shorter rides I found my back and shoulders strained and tired. After installation, those issue went away when I threw the packing in the trash! Noteworthy is on acceleration before I had to "hold on" to the handgrips. After the installation I could just sit back and enjoy the power as I accelerated. I did have to mount my bike differently. I find even on the side stand to just step on the foot pegs it is easier to throw your leg over. Yup, I'm an old guy and still can!
Bought this because my F4 Windshield is tinted and I wanted a clear shield for night riding. Didn't want to pay another almost $400 for F4, even though they are great shields. I put this one on and I love it. The extra two inches cuts out the buffeting. Put over 1100 miles on it riding to Canada and spent some time in pouring rain. I found this windshield perform every bit a good as my F4. Now, I haven't tried to wipe across it with steel wool like F4 does in their demos and I don't plan too. For that matter I wouldn't even try that with my F4. I'm completely satisfied and for 1/2 the price of what I was thinking I'd have to pay.
I think this is my 4th review (update). It is time to change the front tire. As I said in my previous posts, I installed a set of front/rear Dunlop Elite 4's and Centramatic Wheel Balancers at the same time. After 5,000 miles, I caught a bolt on the highway that took out my rear. But! I am at 22,036 miles ridden on the same front tire. While I do believe the Centramatic Wheel Balancers greatly enhanced the tire life, and likely prevented cupping or any other issues that tires tend to have, getting that many miles on a tire on a GL1800 is a good thing. I will be replacing it tomorrow with another Dunlop Elite 4. You can read my other reviews concerning the ride, handling, etc... but I have zero complaints. Oh, and the rear tire now has 7,000 miles on it and still looks pristine.
Well, it is time to change the front tire. I installed new Dunlop Elite 4's at 10,800 miles and had the Centramatic Wheel Balancers installed at that time. What a difference! I caught a bolt on the highway that took out my rear tire at 15,000 miles, and other than the hole in it, it looked great at 5,000 miles! How about the front tire? I have 22,036 miles on it and it is time to replace the front tire - no cupping, no issues, still smooth riding; there's just too little tread in the center to keep riding on it with confidence in wet weather. I get that I am not writing a review of the Dunlop Elite 4's, but I believe the mileage I got out of the front tire - 22,036 - is the result of the Centramatics! With 7,000 miles on the rear tire, it is in superb condition. I understand that the Elite 4 is a longer lasting tire than others, but I am going to attribute the long life of the tire to the Centramatics. That is a lot of miles on a Goldwing for one tire. So, what about the Centramatics? They are just great. There has never been vibration, instability, or other issues. I am a big believer in the Centramatics and wouldn't leave home without them.
Brakes are a perfect fit but you need to order two because there is only one set and on a 93 wing there is two so no riding for another week while I wait for the other set to come in
Do this item have a 3 way extension
Bought the bracket for right handlebar mount on my 2018 Goldwing DCT. It actually works great on the right side. I've had my mug for over 18 years. And now wit the automatic transmission on my Goldwing I can ride and hold my coffee mug in my left hand.
I added this to my 2018 GW Tour and used it to wire up my the connector for my heated gear as well as the Goldstrike LED trunk light. With this fuse block installed, I will be able to easily add additional lights in the future.
I added this rack to my blue GW and it looks great. It also works with the Ultragard luggage rack bag from my 2009 Goldwing.
