Tour windshield with vent
I chose this windshield over several out there due to price and that it has a vent available. It is a good quality product for the price and provides the extra wind protection I was after. I wanted the vent as my original had one, and I use it often to provide directional air circulation. Mounting the vent was simple but requires care. The template included with the vent clearly shows the bottom corners of the vent cut out need to be enlarged slightly to accommodate the brass knurled nuts. This was known ahead of time so it was no surprise and didn't need much to fit. I used a small air grinder (kip grinder) with a fine burr, and gently ground out the clearance for the mating plastic vent. Once done, snapping the vent together took care so as not to risk cracking the outer flange of the vent. The curvature of the vent and windshield are slightly off. I started the two screws into the brass nuts first then tightened them progressively until the flange entered the mating part. I enjoy the windshield very much and being wider and taller, it is great in wind. Hope this helps. |
