Avon Cobra Chrome Radial Tires for GL1800

Update Review
I had a pair of the "original" Avon Cobras. I previously reviewed these when I had only had about 6700 miles on them....I managed to get 19,000 and change out of them total! The ORIGINAL Avon Cobras were OUTSTANDING; grippy in wet or dry, outstanding in ANY conditions! I finished mine up at The Dragon Tail at Deal's Gap in TN in 2013. I've been reading the recent reviews on several quality issues that have plagued these tires, and it is for these reasons I couldn't recommend their purchase. Bubbles developing on the inside, causing exterior lumps and tread separation! I opted to purchase the Bridgestone Exedra pair instead. Great tire if they can exorcise the quality demons....you're rolling the dice if you purchase! |

These are great tires! I currently have 6700 miles on them...one trip from Arkansas to Phoneix, Vegas LA, PCH 1,Monterey,Marysville, CA and back. 118 deg. heat, 2 sandstorms, w/ torrential rain and NO failure! These are confidence inspiring in the rain, track well with no slipping, even at maximum lean! I'm hoping for the mileage close or equal to the E3 Dunlops: 17,000 miles, with no cupping! I don't have the Traxxion fork, or the Centramatic balancers, but I do watch my pressure with a Dowco monitor; 41 psi in both. If the mileage is there, I'll definately get another set! |

Super Comfort Item!! This little gem is the treasure you'll fight over! Makes 800 miles days seem like 100! The quality concerns about it's durability are not unfounded; mine developed a leak at the outer edge seam at the front of the cover;length of time owned at time of failure: 2 years, 5 months, the warranty is for 2 years! It let me down about 900 miles from home, so I can't give it 5 stars. I'm going to send it back to SOHO for repair, and would like to get a spare, but now I'm skeptacle...like the other "Wingmen", $160.00 is a little steep for a product that goes belly up when the warranty does! The Verdict: Comfort: 5+ Quality: Roll the Dice! |

Nice piece of "functional" bling! Forward edge is subject to your suspension settings and riding style...mine is approx. 1/4" narrower that new! Great with the Kury floorboards....foot is wide enough for bike support under numerous surfaces and hot asphalt. |

Schweeet product! Gives you that much needed room to vary foot placement to ward off fatigue on those long hours on the road. Allows the much needed ability to stand and streach while maintaining control of the bike. Feet over size 10 will be cramped for room. Heel and Toe shifter, once used to it, will be addictive. The folding feature is nice...just be especially careful when putting the side stand down of the heel portion of the shifter; because you will hit it until you're familiar of it's location. Well made and very heavy duty w/ replacable skid plates on the outboard edges...pricy..yes! But a great product. Not for the Deal's Gap "regulars" though, you guys should stick with the folding pegs w/replacable skid pins!! |

As far as comfort is concerned: There is no rival; this little jewel will enable you to do 1000 mile days...I covered over 6900 miles in 13 days; no pain. Quality, however, is another story: mine also developed a leak at the welded seam in the front; not user repairable w/patch kit provided. As with most items, it happened just out of the 2yr warranty period. Will send it back to the factory for repair because my behind won't let me take another trip without it! |
