Luggage Rack Risers for GL1800
ITEM CODE: KU7154,   SKU: KU7154

09.20.2023
First the Kicks. The long bolts provided with the risers are, as said before in other reviews too long. All should be the shorter length that are provided with the risers. Simply put a nut on the long bolt and cut it off with an angle grinder or hack saw etc. then work your nut off carefully turning the nut back and forth to smooth out the threads that get a little bugggerd up from cutting the bolt. The Tricks. 1) Buy both the rack and the risers at the same time. Then you can use the smaller diameter "cup washer" that is comes with the rack as the inside "flat" washer. Then you can use the larger diameter and taller cup washer that comes with the riser for the foot of the rack as intended. 32) Yes, use painters tape to keep from scatching trunk lid but also put a strip of tape perfectly down the center of the backrest clear to the "Honda" emblem. Then draw a line on the ridge of the trunk up to the ctr of the back rest with a sharpie. Now you can easily center the rack. 3) Use the tall risers for your template and drill guide. Just let the tip mark your hole then switch to a smaller dia bit, then use the 1/4. The rest is easy. 1 hour max including cutting the 2 long bolts.
