Mini Arms for Ergo II Highway Footpegs
ITEM CODE: KU4071,   SKU: KU4071

06.18.2010
Here's the thing...I liked the floorboards that I purchased from Kuryakyn but as a tall man I was always miffed about the fact that I was limited to only 3 or 4 riding positions I could get from them.

Then one day I was looking through their website and I happened along the mini arms and I noticed that the web page insisted that they DID NOT fit their floorboards as they once did.

So I did the logical thing and I read the install instructions and what do you know? They say in the instructions that they still do fit the floorboards. So I bought them.

Believe it or not the Kuryakyn customer service and tech support guys tried everything they could to discourage me from buying the arms. They said that they were just told not to sell them. No reasons. In fact the more I questioned their specifics the nastier they got. BTW they told me that they have been discouraging customers for 4 years about this part.

In the end I made sure that they told me definitively that they would not malfunction for safety's sake and I installed them in about 5 minutes.

I even called Kuryakyn to let them know that they worked and the tech support guy did all but call me a liar. My advice to you is if you find an inconsistancy in something don't stop til you have cleared up the mystery; you just might end up with a great product like I did!!

Ride safe my friends!!

Kuryakyn Driver Backrest w/Storage Pouch for GL1800
ITEM CODE: KU8990,   SKU: KU8990

05.19.2010
Well friends I know that my opinion is going to be unpopular to the vertically challenged but please try to understand that this is being written by someone who is 6'4" tall and 255lbs, for like sized motorcyclists.

The back rest appears to be of good construction and aside from the nightmare I had trying to pull the (backrest) bars apart to lock it into place the poor quality screws are my only other gripe.

The screws stripped out (which is par for the course with Kuryakyn) during install so I have to go and find replacements. I knew that as big as I am I would have to put the backrest on, the 3rd position.

Once it was mounted I took my trusty wing for a ride. The Kuryakyn backrest ruined the most comfortable motorcycle I had ever driven. Even at the furthest back position I am shoved too far forward kinking my legs into a painful position.

My highway pegs are as far forward as they can go and now they are too close to me! I am trying to find out if I can bend the bars back a half an inch too make it useable but the current opinion is that it's not possible without compromising the integrity of the backrest.

If you are a large man as am I, try anything other than the Kuryakyn backrest. For those of you out there who are shorter I am sure its a fine product and I will gladly sell you mine! SERIOUSLY!

Non-Lighted Cruise Boards for GL1800
ITEM CODE: KU4059,   SKU: KU4059

10.11.2008
I bought these to replace the Kuryakyn highway pegs (ergo II). I have a nerve disorder that leaves me unable to feel my feet and I kept getting the sensation that my feet were slipping off of the pegs (sometimes they really were)!

The floorboards are much better in that they have a larger surface area as well as a small lip at the heel that I can sort of 'lock' my boot-heel on. They are very comfortable and look terrific.

Downside: The wiring (lighted boards) is SO short that you'll likely have to add wire to it just to make it reach a power source. This is a drag when you see that Kuryakyn used a really nice Chrome covered wire to make it blend into the bike; c'mon Kuryakyn, splurge and add a few inches!!

The boards are EXTREMELY limited in the range of adjustments. Not the best thing for a 6' 4" guy!! Also they do not have an extension arm to move it out and away from the bike (like the ergo II set up did). That means if you're as tall as me you're going to have to get used to your legs resting against the paint (fairing).

If you're short I say buy them & don't think twice!! If you're tall; find a buddy who already has them and try 'em out.

As always; ride safe friends!!

If you ask me this is a must have item. I keep my ignition key separate from the remote & all the other 'bike' keys so that I don't scratch up the dash. The rubber cover is a perfect fit and it keeps the other keys from making an unholy mess of the remotes plastic case. The company also makes perfect fitting cases for automotive remotes so we bought one for our Ford F-150 & the wife really enjoys it. The rubber cover also gives you a sure grip on the remote when it's raining. Ride safe my friends and as always; enjoy!!

I don't know what Honda was thinking when they made a fixed mount for the passenger floorboards, but one things for sure this gadget will make your passenger a happy camper. My wife is only 5'2" tall and she couldn't reach the stock boards. With a little trial and error to get the height right this product installs in minutes! What a dream. They are even reversible to allow you to have the boards go slightly down and away or up and back or vice-versa!! Kudos to this design!! I say buy it and make someone happy to sit behind you!! Ride happy friends.:-)

ISO-Grips for use w/OEM Heated Grips for GL1800
ITEM CODE: KU6183,   SKU: KU6183

05.24.2007
I give this a 'One Star' rating for comfort but that's where the praise ends. The right side was a breeze to put on but the left was a royal pain. The adhesive was nothing more than flimsy 'Rubber Cement Strips' that barely stuck to anything other than itself!

If you are looking for a place to rest your wrist the 'Iso Throttle Boss' is another waste of money. If you want true comfort buy the 'Throttle rocker' it may be plastic but it has more surface area to rest on at 1/3rd the cost.

Also worth noting is that these 'iso 'grips' make for a very bulky grip and are probably better suited to larger hands.

Better save your money; safe riding to all!

These are a beautiful replacement but a bit of a pain to install. They sometimes stick and had to really fiddle with them to make them work properly. After that they were fine.!
