About:

I'm 45, pretty new to riding. Took the M.S.F course at top of my class. Bound and determined to master the Goldwing. Been fun so far. Have always liked motorcycles and aircraft. Have had private pilot certificate for 27 yrs, though not current. Hope someday to build and fly my own aircraft. I owned a 1978 Triumph Spitfire 1500 roadster for 17 years, traded for the Goldwing.

I was pleasantly surprised when this cover came. It has a little piece of two sided emblem tape that is pressed on the inside of the cover and you just need a pair of tweezers to pull the protective layer off before sticking it on. I even like the fact that it has enough height on the cover that the cover comes all the way down to the base of the handlebar switch cluster so it doesn't look like it's pressed on it looks like it's the original factory thing, except quality chrome.! I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was made of metal and not plastic! And it looks absolutely gorgeous. The switch has two stamped little nubs that point to the run position and the off position. For the "run" indicator position, I took a toothpick with a little bit of red paint and just put a little dot of paint over that nub and it acts like a nice little pointer.

5-pc Assorted Grommet Kit

Much needed..much better replacements. Do a great job of making the panels feel securely on! Customers, please do yourself a favor and check those old grommets on your bike for dry rot. It just takes one instant for wind to yank a panel off and lost forever! I expected a couple were, but all were dry rotted. I wish the piece count of the kit were more. For price of shipping, I could have used some spares!

GL1500d the new set of handles from add-on. As I was testing them today, it was a hot day and before coming home my right front caliper seized up. I waited for the caliper to cool down, the wheels started to turn again. I talked to another person that had a GL1500, and he asked if I had replacement aftermarket handles on the bike. He said that sometimes what happens is the little round knob on the brake handle pushes slightly in on the master cylinder and causes the brake caliper to grab a little as it gets hot. The solution that I came up with was to ground down the round nub that presses into the brake master cylinder and make it a little bit flatter profile like the original Factory GL 1500. The handle turned out to work excellent. The caliper does not grab any more and everything is much better! That's the only fault that I found with the handles it is the slight profile imperfection on the brake handle. other than that, the feel is great! They don't hurt the inside your hands like the Factory ones do!
