The Sena 30K is not simply a Bluetooth headset, it is an adaptive-mesh communicator: the future of wireless communication. The 30K operates on Sena’s Mesh Intercom technology, a 2.4 GHz frequency, connecting to other riders in an entirely new way. Group connectivity is made simple with the 30K. Should one of the group’s riders go out of range, the Mesh Intercom intelligently keeps the rest of the group in seamless communication, while actively searching to reconnect, should that rider come back within range. Sena 30K Audio Multitasking technology allows you to have a conversation via Adaptive Mesh-Networking technology while simultaneously enjoying Bluetooth operations such as streaming smartphone music, taking or making phone calls, or listening to turn-by-turn GPS navigation, so there is no clunky navigation between devices or channels or frustrating re-pairing of devices. Using the private group mode, the 30K can pair in full duplex communication with up to 16 riders at a range up of to 1.2 miles, while an endless amount of additional Guest users can tune in for listening only. When riding with 5 or more riders, the Mesh Intercom is capable of keeping the group connected at a range of up to 5 miles. Although Mesh Intercom is the next big thing, you won't leave your Bluetooth buddies in the dust either. The 30K is still capable of pairing with up to 3 other Sena or non-Sena Bluetooth communicators at a range of up to 1 mile, depending on the range of your riding buddies' headsets. Using Sena's RideConnected Mobile App, the 30K is also able to connect with riders anywhere in the world via your mobile network.
Mesh Network Bluetooth:
The customer service agent at Sena (Zendesk) has emailed me that Sena currently cannot keep up with the number of RMA's that they have to deal with, which suggests a distinct problem the current batch of Sena products. Ten days after receipt of my RMA units, some replacement units have finally been ordered for me...ordered, not sent. The good people at Wingstuff have been helpful in every way that they can. This is a Sena problem.
At the recommendation of the Zendesk service agent for Sena, I returned my 30K Dual Pack to Sena on an RMA nine days ago. I have proof of their receipt of my units. The Sena/Zendesk agent now refuses to answer my emails, and can't be reached by phone. My units have not been returned, and I think I've been screwed, big-time. It smells just like a company that's going out of business.
Sena's customer service is being handled by a company named Zendesk. It is now completely impossible to reach an actual Sena employee, for any customer service related issue. Judging by the broken English used by their "Service Agents" they are located outside the U.S. The agents I have communicated with, seem to have trouble understanding or comprehending the simplest of complaints or instructions, and have told me things that have proven to be untrue. I have it in writing (from one of these service agents) that the Sena 30K Dual Pack will lose its intercom ability, when used with a Sena Freewire that is turned on, which makes it completely useless on my 2013 Goldwing, equipped with a Freewire. At their suggestion, I have returned my 30K Dual Pack to Sena, for replacement. However, I'm now experiencing problems in getting them to send my replacement units to me. Sena is either unaware of these problems, or simply doesn't care. Either way, I am so incredibly sorry that I had any faith in Sena products, to begin with.
