I installed the lowering brackets and made a couple of changes right away. I am 6'-1" with a 33" inseam. I'm 60 y.o., so knee comfort is a big issue with me as well. I have a couple of suggestions. The units come with little cotter pins to secure the mounting clevis pins. Toss them. I got a bunch (6 required) of "hair-pins" to replace them. You can get these at any auto parts store, Home Depot, Lowes, etc. Just bring in one of the clevis pins and make sure to get the right size. The pegs drag, especially in the lower position, and even raised up are too low for even relatively conservative riding on curvy roads. In the lower position you will drag them getting in and out of your driveway. Getting to the brake pedal and shift lever, is not as bad an issue as I feared. It is a little bit different, but not bad. The good news is that with the hair pins you can put these brackets on and off in a few minutes. Last weekend when I rode to Tampa (about 650 miles of interstates) I put the brackets on and in the lower position and was extremely comfortable for the trip. Once I got back home it was a simple few minutes to return the pegs to their normal mounting hieght. While these pegs are too low (for me) on a daily basis riding the great roads in my area (Carolinas, TN, GA, etc), they are terrific for a long stretch on the super slabs. The quick change ability afforded by the hairpins make this product a great buy. |
I like it on my '02 but I added a velcro strip over the key cylinder and attached to existing velcro to keep pouch in place. Otherwise it tends to slide down. It is a handy item though. |
Convenient and made for easy access for the smaller items my wife likes to take with her. Bought one initially to try out and have since purchased a second one. Easy to install, attached to the same style armrest as shown in the photo example. Only gave it 4 stars because I think it is a little pricey. |
Ordered the dark smoke and am very happy. Installation was easy. Movement is rather tight, so it takes some effort to move it up and down, which leads to fingerprints. |
Installation was manageable and they work fine, but not as visible as I had envisioned. They are recessed in the mirror housing and don't broadcast light like I thought. Okay product, but I'd go with something else next time. |
Nice accent lighting. They look great and installation was not too bad. |
Pretty clever how the lights appear chromed during daylight. Wasn't a perfect fit and one of the tabs snapped off during installation. Still, nice look and I'm happy with it. Only have the trunk moulding now, but will probably order the matching saddle bag pieces soon. |
I'm giving these 5 stars because they are a great product that fit great and look awesome. But, installation took me three days. More precisely, it took me three days to get the OEM tips off. My bike has over 30K miles and the bolts holding them on were seized in place. Even though I used sprays, heat, and a little TLC, all 6 mounting bolts snapped off. GRrrrr. That led to removing the slip-ons and painstakingly drilling out each hole. Once that was done, the turndowns were on in a snap. Do yourself a favor and check for seized bolts first. |
Have had this on for a few months now and it's holding up great. Very good quality. |
BLING !!! These look great |
LITTLE ITEM THAT SHOWS UP BIG. |
GET RID OF THE BLACK AND PUT ON THE CHROME. REALLY BRINGS OUT THE LOOKS DON'T IT. |
