Okay... I chickened out on this one... took it to my dealer for installation... but, wow! Those cagers do back off when I touch the brakes! Worth every penny!
Easy install... great looks! One suggestion... toss the little straps that come with the fins and use some heavier plastic tie straps... Be sure you get them snugged up tight to the fairing when tightening the straps, lest you end up looking for one of them on the side of the road...
I like the backrest... it fits me well in the center position, and hits just right on my back... The wife, however, isn't as complimentary of this accessory... if she puts her feet up on the high point of the transformer boards, it is comfortable... but when she moves them down to the standard board height, the frame of the backrest rubs on her inner thighs and is very uncomfortable... Glad I have the transformer boards, or I would have to toss the backrest... As it is, I'm looking for something different that won't cause her discomfort.
One of the best and cheapest accessories we have added! This makes cruising without the cruise control a pleasure!
I looked at the instructions after I installed them... glad I didn't look at them first... would have still been scratching my head trying to figure out what to do... They look great... adds a little time to checking the brake wear, but worth it for the appearance.
I have both sets, saddlebags and trunk, and love the extra visibility... never get tired of saying, "the only way you can have too many lights on a bike is if you can't keep the battery charged."
Bad buy on my part. Chalk it up to being a newbie. Might be good if you like cans and bottles. Not good for cups of any kind. first one in and it flipped. My white wing looks better without coffee on it. Sorry I bought it.
I have purchased these for both of my wings, i love them. my most recent is a 08 candy apple GL 1800. the red led and chroma are stunning. I had them put on at the dealer, seemed pretty easy. I will not own a wing without them, they are super bright.

I decided that I needed this component after a small problem I had while towing my trailer. I had a relay go out, so all my trailer lighting was not functioning. With the trailer behind my bike (1800), people following me could not see if I activated my turn signal (as the height / width of my trailer covered the signals on the lower bags. Although I have the MUTH mirrors, converting the top rear outside light to a turn signal greatly improves your ability to make your turning intensions known to those behind you. Easy install, great price. Can't ask for more!! |
Good price but plan on spending five full minutes installing to both sides. Easy, inexpensive garnish.
Not cheap but I love the boards, especially the toe/heel shift. Must be removed to check coolant. Also, if you have a standard length side stand, the board has to be moved to the vertical position to access and use the stand. Despite that, I very muc prefer over the stock pegs.

Agree with the review of John & Barbara. Black plastic tape on the wires out of the lights and into the fairing. The install surprised me. Much easier than anticipated. If I can do it, you surely can too. Excellent looks and fair price. |
