Nice fit, looks good. I removed the fairing pockets to fish the wires to the mirrors. A bit longer to install but easier to route the wires. |
I love the rest but had some problems with install. Frame is aluminum and I didn't put the bike on the center stand and I stripped the threads on on the left side. Had to drill them out and use helacoils to repair. Turned a 15 minute job into 3 hours. Great product just be careful lining up your bolts as you can strip them out fairly easily.
An update from my previous review above. It finally got warm enough in the garage to install these lights. Trunk install took me about 1.5 hours and the saddlebags 3 hours. Pretty straight forward install with good instructions - I'm just slow and carefull. Very happy with the end result. I have taken several day and night photos to view on my photo gallery to look at given the ugly photo on the left. Very solid pieces and look great. I'm sure they will look even better when I get around to cleaning my bike! Bonus feature is these plug into the braking system as well so all lights become more intense when the brakes are on so even folks beside you know you are braking! Saddle bag lights require drilling two holes per saddlebag but the instructions made it clear how and where to do them. Will give an update about their durability in the future.
A bit over priced for what it is but other than that its a great product. And be sure and tell the passenger to use a drink with a lid and or straw. As not to have the wind blow soda all over the bike from a coke can
Sorry about the scare to all those... But the shorter arms are only 50 Dollars more ... Sorry for the typo
Very nice addition to the bike. Looks good and yes I wish there was another angle towards the downward direction with out hitting while cornering. I will be ordering the 4.5 inch arms for sure. I take one star away due to the long arms being the only way they come and you have to spend the extra 500 bucks for the shorter ones
Very nice set of boards. Looks great. And is very comfortable, more so than I thought. The adapters instructions really didnt help much but myself being a mechanic did help and figured out the adjustments. The set screw close to the bike tightened well and I have no slippage .... They seem to be holding and I will get the heal toe shifter next.
Just brought my 08 wing home from the shop who installed these and the rear spring. I also added fork brace and tapered stering head bearings to deal with the 1800 front end wobble problem. This is my third wing and put Progessive on my last one also. I am a peg dragger and with all these additions all I can say is "What a great difference". Lets face it, the wing is great. Now it is even better. Headed for Deals Gap next week to put it to the test.
I have tried Avons, and E3's. Liked the E3's except for the cupping. I have an 08 wing and am getting ready to put my second set of Bridgestones on. I still only got 10k out of them, but like Mark, I am a peg dragger. I prefer the handling and less cupping out of the Bridgestone. My dealer mechanic who has a Gold Wing recommended them to me and I am extremely pleased.
Great product. I have had one on the front of my 05 Wing now for a about two years ... and wouldnt go around the block without it...Wife has decided she wants one now so there is only one real choice. I have her a 34 oz ordered so we will see how this goes for her. I wouldnt buy anything else to tell the truth even if they are ugly.
Nice looking covers and I appreciate that they included the chrome screws.
Just had to get it to match the other side!
