If you see "All Reviews", you'll see I bought these back in May of 2010, and here I am buying and installing these again. They do work, but after they have worn down a bit, they eventually break off (closest to the seat). Save yourself some time and effort - buy two packs at a time!!
I had purchased the trunk medallion last year and had to upgrade when I saw this. More befitting of a Wing! I do wish they would make more parts in the yellow gold (for us pearl yellow bikes with the gold trims) as this chrome piece looks a little funky below the gold "HONDA" medallion above.
I put these brake shoes on when I bought the bike in 2007. It is now over 33,000 miles later and I just changed them again. Of course I used the same ones. The old ones were wearing down but not dangerously so. I recommend these ECB's over anything else I have ever tried.

I have a yellow '02 like the picture and it just needed a little something extra on the back end. Easy to install and they look great. |
Once you get over the idea of cutting you seat, the install was not difficult. Makes the long rides more comfortable. Worth every cent.
Installation was neither very difficult nor a piece of cake. The foam is somewhat resistant to being cut and required some forceful knife work. Lining up the two pieces and getting the bolts in took some body weight and force with a knee against a cabinet. The work was well worth it. The backrest matches the seat perfectly and is extremely comfortable. The storage pouch/'shoulder bag' is most handy. As with other backrests I've had, it took a while to find the two sweet spots - one for no jacket and one for when a jacket with an armored back is worn. Adjusting between the two is fast and simple. Highly recommended accessory at a sweet price.
We had no problems. We had the dealer install it,we have the cooler rack also. Have taken two trips from New York to Florida. Now looking at the bigger rack to use for extra storage.
I BOUGHT THIS THREE MONTHS AGO AND HAVE TRAVELED FAIRLY EXTENSIVELY. THIS IS A GREAT BACK REST. I REPLACED ANOTHER WELL KNOWN BACK REST SEEN ON THESE PAGES THAT I DIDN'T FEEL HAD ENOUGH ADJUSTABILITY. THIS ONE HAS REALLY MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY COMFORT LEVEL. YOU CAN EVEN REACH AROUND AND ADJUST IT GOING DOWN THE ROAD. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.
I BOUGHT THIS ABOUT SIX WEEKS AGO AND INSTALLED THE NIGHT I GOT IT. EASY INSTALL EXCEPT THAT ONE OF THE BOLT HOLES ON MY LEFT LOWER COWL SEEMED TO BE A LITTLE OUT OF LINE (NOT THE FAULT OF THIS PRODUCT). I REALLY HAVEN'T NOTICED ANY HEAT BUILDUP AND I JUST FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE KNOWING IT'S THERE. I REALLY DIDN'T PAY ATTENTION TO HOW IT LOOKED WHEN I PUT IT ON BUT LATER I NOTICED THAT THE FRONT PORTION OF THE PAN SEEMS TO HANG A LITTLE LOWER THAN THE REAR. IT'S NOT A PROBLEM BUT I CAN'T HELP BUT WONDER IF I BENT IT SOMEWAY; OH WELL, GREAT PRODUCT AND WELL WORTH THE PRICE.....P.S. I CUT MYSELF: I NEVER LISTEN.
I agree. Well worth the price.
Good looking bling for the bike. I had no problems with them being loose. On the contrary, I wasn't sure how hard to press down on them to get them on. I doubt I will ever have a problem with them being loose. Great Value for the money.

Agree with other reviews. Maybe for short riders, but you click it up 2 clicks, for taller riders, (I'm 6'1"), and it shakes so bad people look at you on the road. Much noisier than the Memphis it was supposed to replace, has Tulsa feel, like it's in your face because of the angle. SO said she feels less wind on her shoulders, so I guess there is a trade off. Has a very cheap look and feel. |
