Nearly 12mths on and it's looking as crappy as ever. Scratches everywhere; who knows what from ! I will have to replace this liability, and it certainly won't be with the same item. |
| Looks Great real happy with this product, just take your time tape is so thin but not bad two,Real nice addition. |
| I think this is a Great product, glad I bought them would recomend to All. |
| It's great for what it's designed for. I've had to replace it a couple of times; but, considering how much rain its been through - I can't complain. Now I just keep an extra one handy. They have always lasted more than 5 months with me. |
| This is an addendum to my original review. I have now run these units for about 12000 klics and had absolutely no problem with the bolting which was my original concern. They are without a doubt, in my opinion, the best units available on the market today. I have been through 70 mph winds, past semi's, and ran up to 220Km with them on and not once did they shift from the position I had them in. If you want a quality well designed and engineered product, these are the unit to look at! |
| Install was easy. Love the new look. Adds alot of visabilty to the bike. |

Although the Listing says this Hitch "Does Not Fit the Air Bag Model" It does actually fit the Air bag model.I have installed it on a friends 09 airbag without any troubles. In fact I called Add On and they said they don't know why Wingstuff says it won't fit a airbag model? They said this hitch fits all of the GL1800's currently made. |

Yesterday I rote a review regarding Show Chrome's passenger armrests which is not at all complimentory. Later in the the day I received a call from Don at Wing Stuff saying that Show Chrome had contacted them and was expressing concern over my review. Don asked me to contact a gentleman named Wally at Show Chrome and speak to him personally. I spoke to Wally today and he again expressed concern for my difficulties with their product. He asked if there was anything they could do for me regarding my concerns and told me that he had printed off my review and forwarded it to his R&D department to see if they could address my comments and improve the product to a higher level of quality and design. I am not going to rescind my comments as I feel they are valid. What I am doing though is to offer my accolades to both Wing Stuff and Show Chrome for taking the time to investigate and offer solutions to my problems as a customer. I, like most of the riders out there, work hard for my money. When I chose to purchase a product and that product does not meet my expectations I feel as though I was taken advantage of. Most of the time if I complain I am given little or no response with the occasional "Sucks to be you" thrown in for good measure. The end result is normally that I cannot fight back as they have my money and I have learned a new lesson in life about dealing with some people. My point here is that both Wing Stuff and Show Chrome did what I consider to be the right thing. They both took the bull by the horns and offered to try to make things right for me as a person, not just a customer. They displayed concern and acted honourably as corporate bodies which is the exception to the rule in my experience. In my life I try and find quality in both products and people. In this case, the quality of the product was lacking in my opinion. However, having said this, I can honestly say that the quality of the people that make up these organizations more than makes up for my small difficulties. So, to Don and all the folks at Wing Stuff and Wally and his lot at Show Chrome, my hat is off to you. You have once again restored my faith in the idea that there are good people out there if you care to look and these folks don't let you down. Thank You again. |
| This is a great product. We purchased this bag and it functioned well for our three day trip. It rained for the first hour of our trip and the bag did not leak at all. This bag stayed in place even at highway speeds without a problem. |
| Looks great and adds much needed awareness to oncoming drivers. Had this installed at the shop in about a hour. |

After my accident this spring, the dealer who did the repairs to my bike installed these instead of the similar other brand that I had on the bike. (He claimed that they were longer made) Compared to what I had these are a total piece of junk. If I could give them a lower rating I would. The only good thing about them is they mount to the seat instead of the trunk. The first thing I noticed was the poorly designed mounts. My old units had machined recesses in them to accomodate the taper fit on the grab handles. These are just flat and have this horking great rubber ring to cover the taper on the grab handles. The taper recesses also help keep the mount off the seat vinyl so as to prevent cutting the seat. Second, Show Chrome elected to use a soft open cell foam in the pads with open stitched covers. As a result everytime it rains or you wash your bike the stitching lets water into the foam which will immediately wring out onto your unsuspecting passengers sleeves when they set their arms on them. My old units were a firmer closed cell foam and would not absorb water. Third, Show Chrome uses Mig welding on these units and my old units were Tig welded, a much superior process although it's more expensive. I am a welder by trade and know the difference. Mig is prone to cold lapping which means that although it may look welded, there is a good chance that it's not and will break away leaving you the owner with a problem. Fourth, the bushing that acts as the swivel fits very loose on the mounting bolt and relies on the nylon washers to hold it straight. In time, the washers will wear unevenly and the armrests will begin to sag forcing you to buy new washers. The units I had were a good inference fit and the bushing does the loading work, not the nylon washer which is just there to assure smooth operation. I reordered a set of of my old units from WingStuff and have now installed them. I am not allowed to tell you the name of the other manufacturer under the prevailing rules but if you check Wing Stuff's listings you will see a very similar unit with a bend in the oval tubing riser and a rectangular shaped pad mounted on a yellow Wing. These are the units you should consider. As for my Show Chromes, well I sold them for $25.00 to another guy who was selling his old bike and thought they would add to the sale value...... |
| Put one on my 05 wing. Just took it off yesterday. Needs to be replaced. The black holds up really well, there is some velcrow latching around the mirrows that after 5 years the sun get to. I'll be ordering a new on soon. Well worth the money, helps keep the front of the bike very nice. |
