Universal Kickstand Extender
ITEM CODE: KU7109,   SKU: KU7109

This is an update to my review below since I’ve received a couple of requests to provide a picture of where I inserted the screw which corrected the issue of the Kickstand Extender coming loose . Here is a picture https://screencast.com/t/XoM0PQ8AYMe of the screw I inserted which will absolutely prevent the extender from moving from the position it is in when you insert the screw. I hope this helps.

I installed these about 1 year ago. They installed in about 30 minutes and I used the blue Loctite to keep things tight. It took a couple of tries to get the brake pedal set to the desired height but that wasn't difficult. I can’t believe the difference they made in the ride and comfort level and wish I would have installed them when I first purchased my GW in 2008. After a year they still look and feel great. If there was only 1 item I was going to buy to improve the comfort of my ride, these are it.

ISO-Grips Black for use w/OEM Heated Grips for GL1800

I bought these black grips with the weighted ends about a year ago. They were relatively easy to install, they look nice and they are comfortable. Shortly after installing them I posted a review on this site which basically had these same comments and also noted that they do not get nearly as warm as the stock grips and they take longer to heat. I’m disappointed to see that review has been removed from the site. After riding with these grips for about 9 months I decided to remove them since it was getting cold again and I prefer the high heat available from the stock grips for those days when I don’t want to wear my heated gloves. After removing the grips I can give you a better estimate of the heat you will receive. With these grips the MAXIMUM heat I received was equivalent to the heat received from setting #2 on my 2008 GW standard grips. So if warmth is important, try setting your handlebar heat to #2 to see if it is providing you with enough heat before you buy these because that is all you will get with these if you have the same experience I did.

I like the comfort of the larger grip so much I will likely reinstall these next spring but I am disappointed in the lack of heat that is transferred and the lack of clarity on how much heat is lost by installing these.

Universal Kickstand Extender
ITEM CODE: KU7109,   SKU: KU7109

Like many other reviewers I bought this because I have the Kuryakyn floorboards which I love but require a kickstand extender unless you want to lift the left floorboard to put the kickstand down. I read the reviews before buying and decided to do so based on the assumption I would apply the red Loctite. The Locktite worked for about 1,000 miles before the extended portion began to swivel.

I was able to resolve the issue by drilling a hole through the area where the two pieces connect and then placing a screw into the hole. I drilled from underneath and was careful not to drill the entire way through to the top for aesthetic purposes. I then used a screw that was much longer than needed and cut it to be flush with the bottom of the extender after inserting it using Loctite. Since the screw head has been removed you can’t tell it is there unless you crawl under the bike and look closely. I now have over 15,000 miles without issue. I wouldn’t buy these again if there was another better option but I haven’t found one and was able to get these to work after about ½ hour of work.

ISO-Grips Black for use w/OEM Heated Grips for GL1800

Bought these since the stock grips were small and other reviews indicated they worked well with the heated OEM grips (from a heat perspective). These are huge and take some time to adjust to if you have been riding with the stock grips for some time. I am disappointed with the lack of heat transfer and would return them for this reason if I could. They look good and feel good but if you want/need the nice heat that is available with the stock do not plan on using these in cold weather.
