Great 12v power socket
| Bought it back on 06/12/2014. Works good, follow directions and installs easy. Better yet now I have a way to charge my phone or other devices. I bought a USB charger to plug into this. Great product and factory quality. |

Electric acc connection
| Quick and easy install seeing I had my GL1800 tore down running electric wires and XM radio wires. :o) now I can charge my Cell Phone when needed and run my XM. |

Blows fuses

| You are buying a true Honda product.Install was easy after watching youtube video for do it yourselfers like me.No more then 20 to 30 mins install time,you need a power source for your phone for long travels, plus for other media music outlets.Can't ride without one. |

Why is this not standard equipment

Easy to install
| Got this today and 20 minutes later it was installed, tested, and working. Go to YouTube and search for Goldwing Accessory Socket Kit Installation and watch the video on how to install it. If you're not comfortable drilling through the fairing pocket, look up the price for a replacement fairing pocket. It's like $20.. I figured if I messed up too bad, I'm only out $20 and I get a second shot at it. ... still cheaper than what the service department would charge I'm sure. Why an accessory socket isn't standard installation on a GoldWing, I'll never understand. |

Incorrect Polarity
| I have a 2008 GL-1800 and I like the item. It is a fairly easy install, however, the one that I received blew out two of my phone chargers before I realized what the hell was going on. It turns out as a result of some meter testing that the polarity was incorrect (not sure if it was the device or the motorcycle harness). It can only connect one way so there can be no installation error. Anyhow I was leaving for vacation the next day and so I just reversed the polarity on the power socket and was on my way. Working well ever since but I would not suggest plugging in anything expensive until you are sure it is working correctly. |

ATTN: DEALERS--make this a standard installation
| Honda is too cheap to include this as a standard--inexplicably. Dealers should add one to every Goldwing sold, as a service. Good grief. The product is foolproof, and very handy. There is simply no excuse for Honda to wire for this, but not to include it as standard equipment. There is even less justification for a dealer not to install. HELLO, FOLKS----we are dropping more than $25,000 on your business. You can afford a $30 accessory. |

12v DC GL 1800 Fairing Power Socket
| Sure it's a good product and a good addition to any GL 1800..However, the socket is fused at only 3 amps and the bike circuit that it plugs into is fused at 5 amps.First time I plugged an air-compressor in to fill a buddy's flat tire..the fuse blew ! It's ok for I-Pods and Cell phones but pretty much worthless for anything else like a compressor. I'm going to add a heavier duty socket somewhere else that will handle the compressor load. That's why I'm only giving it a 3 star rating. Paul |
