Actually bought and installed these last summer. Thought I had submitted my review but it appears that I hadn't so here it is. Would have given it 5 stars, but was kind of a pain to install and the washer and pivot system could designed a bit better. Anyway, the product is solid! I didn't like the trunk mounted styles because the wife is short and tends to use the arm rests to help her get on the bike, and I saw many broken trunks in my future. Again these are very solid and secure. |

Very good product and the installation was straight forward. I really enjoy not have to open the armrests before opening the truck like I had to do on my GL1500. The wife says they are very comfortable. |

Great product with strong mounting. My wife loves these arm rests and they make for a more enjoyable ride for her. I mounted a Butler drink holder for her easy use while riding. The installation of the right arm rest could not be installed without moving the volume control and PTT. See photos in gallery. |

These were very easy to install. Idid find that with the backrest I already had installed, that I needed to remove and leave out the foam cushions they send to put between the armrest mounts and the seat. The bolts were not long enough with the foam cushions put in. |

Yesterday I rote a review regarding Show Chrome's passenger armrests which is not at all complimentory. Later in the the day I received a call from Don at Wing Stuff saying that Show Chrome had contacted them and was expressing concern over my review. Don asked me to contact a gentleman named Wally at Show Chrome and speak to him personally. I spoke to Wally today and he again expressed concern for my difficulties with their product. He asked if there was anything they could do for me regarding my concerns and told me that he had printed off my review and forwarded it to his R&D department to see if they could address my comments and improve the product to a higher level of quality and design. I am not going to rescind my comments as I feel they are valid. What I am doing though is to offer my accolades to both Wing Stuff and Show Chrome for taking the time to investigate and offer solutions to my problems as a customer. I, like most of the riders out there, work hard for my money. When I chose to purchase a product and that product does not meet my expectations I feel as though I was taken advantage of. Most of the time if I complain I am given little or no response with the occasional "Sucks to be you" thrown in for good measure. The end result is normally that I cannot fight back as they have my money and I have learned a new lesson in life about dealing with some people. My point here is that both Wing Stuff and Show Chrome did what I consider to be the right thing. They both took the bull by the horns and offered to try to make things right for me as a person, not just a customer. They displayed concern and acted honourably as corporate bodies which is the exception to the rule in my experience. In my life I try and find quality in both products and people. In this case, the quality of the product was lacking in my opinion. However, having said this, I can honestly say that the quality of the people that make up these organizations more than makes up for my small difficulties. So, to Don and all the folks at Wing Stuff and Wally and his lot at Show Chrome, my hat is off to you. You have once again restored my faith in the idea that there are good people out there if you care to look and these folks don't let you down. Thank You again. |

After my accident this spring, the dealer who did the repairs to my bike installed these instead of the similar other brand that I had on the bike. (He claimed that they were longer made) Compared to what I had these are a total piece of junk. If I could give them a lower rating I would. The only good thing about them is they mount to the seat instead of the trunk. The first thing I noticed was the poorly designed mounts. My old units had machined recesses in them to accomodate the taper fit on the grab handles. These are just flat and have this horking great rubber ring to cover the taper on the grab handles. The taper recesses also help keep the mount off the seat vinyl so as to prevent cutting the seat. Second, Show Chrome elected to use a soft open cell foam in the pads with open stitched covers. As a result everytime it rains or you wash your bike the stitching lets water into the foam which will immediately wring out onto your unsuspecting passengers sleeves when they set their arms on them. My old units were a firmer closed cell foam and would not absorb water. Third, Show Chrome uses Mig welding on these units and my old units were Tig welded, a much superior process although it's more expensive. I am a welder by trade and know the difference. Mig is prone to cold lapping which means that although it may look welded, there is a good chance that it's not and will break away leaving you the owner with a problem. Fourth, the bushing that acts as the swivel fits very loose on the mounting bolt and relies on the nylon washers to hold it straight. In time, the washers will wear unevenly and the armrests will begin to sag forcing you to buy new washers. The units I had were a good inference fit and the bushing does the loading work, not the nylon washer which is just there to assure smooth operation. I reordered a set of of my old units from WingStuff and have now installed them. I am not allowed to tell you the name of the other manufacturer under the prevailing rules but if you check Wing Stuff's listings you will see a very similar unit with a bend in the oval tubing riser and a rectangular shaped pad mounted on a yellow Wing. These are the units you should consider. As for my Show Chromes, well I sold them for $25.00 to another guy who was selling his old bike and thought they would add to the sale value...... |

Liked the look, she loves them, dont try to loosen the hand rail bolts with a allen wrench, get a good attachment type to get the leverage you will need. |

Really easy to install. Bulletproof packaging. Wow took me longer to get them out of the packaging than to install them. They look great, also! My wife loves them. Only issue was putting the swing arm on, the bolt snapped while tightening. Had to go get another botl and nylock nut. Of course it is hard to find another chrome one, but it is only noticeable if you look for it. I will still rate it 5 stars for appearance and usability. |

Installed thee about two years ago and they have held up extremely well. No real issues unless you count the minor difficulty in lining up the seat bolts while trying to keep the things from scratching the paint until you get them tightened up. However, once installed, outstanding strength, great looks and the wife loves them. |

I installed theseacouple of weeks ago. My rear passenger loves them. The only difficulty with my installation came when I attached the cushions to the swing arms. I recommend starting (and then removing) the screws in the cushions before attaching the cushions to the swing arms. |

I was very happy with the simple design and they are very strong and can hold some weight too. This is the only way to go if your planning on having rear a passenger. Mounts to the side grab handle and it is secure. You can not say that for the trunk mounted armrest. These do swing out nicely and you do not need to move them when you open your trunk. I am going to modify it and find a drink holder that I can mount to it. |
