Bridgestone vs Dunlop
I now have now bought my first pair of Dunlop Elite 3 tires. I have to say, I’m a Bridgestone guy. I have always had Bridgestone tires on my Goldwings and I’m very happy with these tires. On a whim, I paid the extra $100 bucks for these Dunlop Elite 3 tires. I hope they’re worth it and I get a lot more mileage with these tires. You can’t beat the price for Bridgestone tires on Wingstuff. Especially if you buy them when there is an additional $60 rebate on these tires that they run about twice a year.So Dunlop, you have a lot to do mileage wise to make me happy. I have 100 miles on these tires so far and they seem okay. But I better get double the mileage on these tires or I’m going back to Bridgestone tires where the price point is much better.I’m only giving them 4 stars at this point because of the price point on these tires. |

Goldwing Owner/Operator
I put 18,600 miles on my first E-4. Mostly one-up and no trailer ect. I consider that pretty good wear. I don't see a reason to try a different brand. I change my own tires the " old fashon way " with tire irons and this E-4 has a solid sidewall coumpound ! Was a challenge as I'm very carefull to not scratch the rims. I will highly consider taking rim and tire to a trusted shop next time. Wingstuff was great on price and prompt shipping. |

Elite 4 Rear Tire
This tire is a smooth running tire that seems to be made for the goldwing. It is long running tire wears evenly. Tire Pressure is the key to having a successful ride with this brand tire. Enjoy your riding on the this tire. |

Update to previous review
Here's my update. 22K miles later with still another 2/3 k left I suppose., No cupping or excessive wear. Note; I did not use any balance beads or product like that. ( I have used in the past twice, but at the end of the day, never noticed a difference between using/not using) I kept them at 40 psi front and 42 rear. I agree that these tend to chase tar snakes and the like, but that did lesson over time. After all is said and done, I was very happy with these, especially during the 2nd half of life. My experience is most tires lose their good driving characteristics as they get older. These Elite's have actually maintained their driving characteristics throughout their life. Avon's were my previous favorite tire and handle awesome, unfortunately I could never get them past 18k. These Elite's also handle very well, and, are great in bad weather too. If Avon creates a tire that can rival elite 4's longevity, I'll go back.....until then, it's Elite 4 for my next set. |

Elite 4's on my Wing
I'm fairly new to the Goldwing. In truth, I just recently purchased a used 2005. It was equipped with Dunlop Eite 4 tires. However, I noticed an odd handling quirk, the front tire seemed to take just a moment to take a grip upon entering a corner. I gave the tire a close inspection and noticed it was not a radial. I ordered a radial front from WingStuff, installed it, and it now handles amazingly well. I really like the Elite 4s and will stay with them. |

22,036 miles on this tire
I think this is my 4th review (update). It is time to change the front tire. As I said in my previous posts, I installed a set of front/rear Dunlop Elite 4's and Centramatic Wheel Balancers at the same time. After 5,000 miles, I caught a bolt on the highway that took out my rear. But! I am at 22,036 miles ridden on the same front tire. While I do believe the Centramatic Wheel Balancers greatly enhanced the tire life, and likely prevented cupping or any other issues that tires tend to have, getting that many miles on a tire on a GL1800 is a good thing. I will be replacing it tomorrow with another Dunlop Elite 4. You can read my other reviews concerning the ride, handling, etc... but I have zero complaints. Oh, and the rear tire now has 7,000 miles on it and still looks pristine. |

Elite 4 tires
Bought a set of Elite 4 tires front tire has 27,656miles rear tire had19,354 miles on it. Had to replace the rear tire because it cupped severely. New rear tire now has 8,200 miles on it and no cupping ,because I installed centramatic balancers what a difference. Love these tires and centramatics balancers. |

Great handling, terrible mileage
I have always loved Dunlop tires. I ran Elite 3 tires on my 2003 GL1800 and loved them, got about 13500 on a set. I’m not sure what Dunlop changed but I am extremely disappointed with the Elite 4 set I am currently running. At less than 9000 miles I am going to have to change them. The front tire wore badly, having a well defined ridge around the middle and extreme tread wear on the sides, and is at a point where I don’t trust what little tread is left. The rear could go another 1000 or so, but is getting thin on tread too. I am regular about checking pressure, and I also run the counterbalance beads. I plan to try another brand this time around, and am flat out bummed. By the way, I also run Dunlop American Elites on my Harley and really like that style as well. |

FINAL REVIEW FOR THIS SET OF TIRES AT END OF SERVICE
FINAL REVIEW FOR THIS SET OF TIRES AT END OF SERVICE Just replaced this set of E-4's. Mileage was 17,424 on the rear and 11,372 on the front. They were balanced with balance beads and the pressures were ran at 42 front and 44 rear. Riding consisted of a mix of mountains. ( I live in Maggie Valley N.C) and highway. Several trips of 2-3k miles each. On these trips I did pull a Bushtech trailer. I replaced this set with a exact replacement inclusive of new valve stems and balance beads. I would recommend them with the understanding that they will get somewhat noisy near the end of service life. The tires I pulled off were still considered safe but were down to the wear bars. |

Year Later Review
These tires have performed well. The front now has about 12K and the rear has about 9k. I live in Maggie Valley N.C. and expect to change them before spring due to the mountain riding. I do think running the pressures at 46 in the rear and 42 in the front along with the balance beads has helped. |

I have been impressed (updated)
*** Updated 09-04-2018 *** With 15,000 miles on the tires... This is my second update to an original review I did on these tires. My wife and I road two up and we pulled a motorcycle trailer our last two trips, the last being 6,385 miles. The tires continue to perform without any issues. Handling and comfort, as well as wet weather traction are all great. Unfortunately, on the way home with about 120 miles remaining on our trip, I hit a bolt on the highway and it made a finger sized hole in the rear tire, almost instantly deflating the tire at 80 miles per hour. The bike felt squishy on the rear but I was able to ride about 3/10ths of a mile to a rest area. I put these tires on at 10,800 miles and had the flat at 25,800 miles, exactly 15,000 miles. I am certain I could have ridden another 5,000 miles with the remaining tread on the rear. As for the front, it still looks very good and I will most likely get another 5,000 miles out of it. For those wondering, I carry a spare rear wheel for my Goldwing in the back of the motorcycle trailer, so I was able to change out the tire and get home. I had a new Dunlop Elite 4 installed on the back and I hope to get 20,000 miles or more out of it. |
