replaced springs with Progressive monotube Fork Cartridge Kit.
I have about 26,000 on my wing. If I could have changed them sooner with these results I would have done it sooner! They were not avalible until this last year. I also replaced the rear mono spring with a Progressive spring and the head bearings with tappered bearings. I use to scrap my pegs quiet often now, hardly ever. Riding two up the bike handles like it is on rails. Highly recommended!!!! |

Proggresive Mono Tube Fork Cartridge Kit
I have a 2010 GL1800 with 38k. I began feeling and noticing that the ride height was getting lower by 35k and my left fork seal was starting to leak again. The ride was getting rough and every significant bump jarred me in my seat. I took the plunge and bought these instead of traxxion. The install took me about 6 hours. I viewed the vidio progressive had and did the install that way. I bought the seal kit wing stuff sells and replace all bushings and seals except the o-rings for the fork caps. I cleaned and replaced the fluid with the ss8 Honda oil. My old fork oil was black and had metallic flakes. I took a 8 mile ride after install and found the front was a little higher than it had been with the old springs. I used one shim for my weight (150-170lbs) and the loads I carry. Ride was very compliant or soft. Bigger bumps was better than OEM. I was not jolted like oem. Handling was way better the tires stuck to the ground and tracked perfectly. That was just a quick test ride after the installation. If I remember, I will post another review on them when I have more time in the saddle. In the mean time you can e mail for more info at [email protected]. |

Excellent
These are very good and worth the money i weigh about 180 at the moment and used i spacer per side which gives a slightly stiffer ride and good ground clearence which i like so far a top product hope they last a long time without any failure PS you may find that you no longer need a fork brace |

Simplify your life
I replaced my OEM with the monotube kit and simplified the care and feeding of a very important part of the GoldWing performance. I had already disabled the ADV prior and found the monotube inserts enhanced the ride. |

Best Yet.
After my fork seals started to seep yet again I decided to order this kit. I had progressive springs in the front already and was pretty happy with the ride. It was a very easy install. I used 1 shim per side and left the anti dive working. Wow!! What a difference. I never believed that something could make that much of a difference in ride and handling. Small little dips and riding up into a curb to enter a driveway used to be a bit harsh. Now the bike just floats over it and you would never know the dip was there. Handles nicer in the corners too. Best money I ever spent. |

monotubes
Installed these on my 09 along with a reinforced lower tree. Fantastic improvement. Better compression damping and rebound damping. I also have all balls tapered roller brgs. I shimmed my ADV and do not seem to need it now. I weigh 160 lbs and I used no shims. Like other poster said some small bumps are firm but overall a better ride. The feeling of control now when leaned over is much better. More confidence. It raised the front of my bike about 1 1/4 inches. I plan to slide the tubes up some next time I put it on the stand. That will lower the front part way back down. I have over 1000 miles on them so far. Jim GWRRA #320221 |

Great Suspension !
Installed prior to a 2700 mile road trip and I have to say that this is a GREAT upgrade in the front suspension. My wing feels more stable in turns and no more nose dives on hard braking. Very nice product. |

Good Return for the Money
Let me start by saying that I have over 40 years of riding, racing and building experience on over 30 motorcycles. This is about a 3-4 hour job if you are proficient with tools and your Goldwing. Be sure and put new oil in BEFORE mount back on the motorcyle!!! I had Progressive springs, 10 wt oil, fork brace with anti-dive shim in place and was pretty happy with the front suspension. Having put in the Monotube Cartridge kit now for a month I give it a thumbs up as an improvement. Consistent dampening with correct sag. The ONLY area that these are NOT better is over very small sharp edged bumps. They are not terrible, but not as smooth. I am happy over all with the improvement. DO NOT put in 2 preload shims. As a matter of fact, if I did not have to completely disassemble forks again, I would try it with no shim to see if theat helps the small bump issue. PS I dropped forks in tubes 1/2 inch for quicker handling with less initial sag and dive. |

Great ride
I recently retired my 07 tired suspension with the monotubes. Ride is much smoother now. Tracking in corners is much more stable. I also replaced steering bearings with all balls. Installation is straight forward and the directions are clear. Don't forget you will need to buy new seals. Even if you have never done forks before you could do this. I was also able to score a progressive rear shock and spring that were still new in the box. All and all I'm very happy with this set up. |

Don't do it if you like a smooth ride!
These things made my bike really rough. I feel every bump now and I miss my old smooth ride. It hurts my chest when I ride. I will most likely take these off my bike this winter as I thought it took a long time to install and I don't want any more down time this summer. Note that I installed new seals, bushings and brake shoes, so the time was not too bad. I am really disapointed that I wasted that much money. |

I like them
This is not just for the Monotubes as I had installed Progressive Monotubes, a Progressive Rear Spring as well as All Balls Bearings. I also had my actuator re-filled, bled and a new braided line installed. (Thank you John at JBJ in Santa Ana!) In writing about my impressions know that I have only had the OEM experience and have ridden no other Goldwings with an aftermarket suspension. After I picked up the bike I took it on several sets of railroad tracks (they were easy to find as JBJ is in an industrial area of Santa Ana) then on the freeway and finished on Santiago Canyon Highway, which has some gentle twisties. I am not a strong sport rider. I had the install done mainly for comfort versus some might for better handling. I can throw the bike around a bit but I will never come in at number one or two. Other bikes can pass me on the inside of a turn. Wow! Before whenever I hit a bump there was a jolt to the bike and my spine many times locking up the Anti-Dive Valve. And then all the next bumps where even harsher. Now the bumps are soft. In a sweeping turn the more I leaned into the turn I would find that my OEM forks (and rear shock if I was two up) would flex or go in and out (compress?). No more. My bike on a sweeping turn is now rock solid! Before if I was at high RPM’s and I let off of the throttle my forks would compress. No more. Before when I was in a turn and I hit a bump I was on high alert as my forks would compress in a very scary way. Today I hit several of these and it was if the bike did not even notice. Before I would evade all man-hole covers. I hated the jarring, like I was riding a HD hard tail. Again, now the bike just doesn’t seem to notice. The bike does sit taller, even with the tubes sticking up about ½ inch above the triple tree. With the Corbin seat I can still get both feet on the ground but not as surely as I did before. But this is a small price to pay for the increased handling coupled with the smoothness of the ride. Oh, and I had the Pre-Load set at “0†the entire ride. I weigh 230. |

Progressive suspension cartridge.
Installed them yesterday. Took us(2) about 4 hours to do the job. Included instructions were clear and easy to follow. The front is now 1.5 inches higher than the stock suspension and quite a bit more compliant over bumps. The rebound from hard braking is far better. |
