| On the plus side: This seat is much firmer than the stock seat but is much more comfortable "right out of the box" on long rides. Saddleman says give the seat at least 500 - 1200 miles for a break in period. This seat also sits you up 2 - 3 inches higher than stock which is something I was looking for, in order to be able to look over the windshield. I also appreciate that I received the seat much quicker than was quoted to me. Another plus is that by putting your height and weight and the same for your passenger is that you get a custom built seat. On the negative side and the reason for only 4 stars: The seat was slightly damaged in shipping which I blame poor packing on, by Wingstuff. The seat was somewhat difficult to install because it does not have the built in holders for the spacers. And finally it is about a half inch short of meeting the gas tank. Overall I am happy with the purchase but I do have 2 recommendations: 1) to Saddleman - add a little length on the from end to allow the seat to meet the gas tank, 2) to Wingstuff - do a better job of packing to prevent damage in shipment - an outer box would probably have prevented the damage. |
