love the effects....should be an attention grabber and hopefully help with those tailgaters. It took me a little over an hour to install. Powding's review/explanation was a great help in locating the right wires on my '07 Wing. I would add, at least for the '07...the bundle going up on the right had 5 wires in it (one being the green with red stripe) while the bundle on the left going up was significantly larger making me think it was not the right bundle. This left bundle had 10 wires.....yet, only 1 green with red stripe, the one needed. Vegamax's review also helped....in that you need to also tap into a ground wire ( the solid green wire in either bundle ) to complete the installation. I did use only 1 input ( either side ) and just taped off the other unused input. |

Since I have received more than a couple of e-mails about this I thought I’d submit this post. Disclaimers: I don't know if this is good on any other than 2006 model Goldwings. This is for hooking up the modulator to the trunk lights only, leaving the saddlebag lights to function normally. This is for do-it-yourselfer’s who aren’t afraid of working on motorcycles or wiring. There may be a better way to install this that I have overlooked. I take no responsibility for the accuracy of my memory. After removing the rear tire cover (what the license plate mounts to) you should see a good size bundle of wiring with a cover and some plugs. If you look closely you'll see that a smaller group leaves on the left & right side going toward the front of the bike and then upward. Note: I had already traced these groups of wires back down from the trunk lighting by removing the bottom of the trunk but once you know where it is it's not necessary to do this. I carefully cut back the tape on these two bundles to expose the wires inside them. Even in good light it may be difficult to identify the green wire with the red stripe. (hint: there will be only one wire of this color combo in each bundle). I clipped this wire on both sides, verifying one at a time by hitting the brake that I had the correct wire. Now it's just a matter of following the instructions that came with the modulator to tie into these wires. I soldered my wiring using shrink wrap to insulate my connections but you can use whatever method you’re familiar with to make the connections. Just make sure you wrap the bundles back up with good quality electrical tape since this area gets some road spray off the rear tire. This would be especially true for northerners with salt on the roads in fall, winter, & spring. There is plenty of room to mount the modulator back in this area. Just make sure that it and the wiring are out of the way of re-installing the rear tire cover. Enjoy the added safety. |

Installed two in the last week, The first one took it longer but took off more than was needed the second one went very smoothe. He i note there has been a upgrade of these so they work right on our lights, the diffence in the units seems to be the size of the white and red wire which is larger on the right module. looks good. I wired up to the top brake lights only left lowers alone. |

OK, I'm with some of the others as far as the wiring is concerned. I always like the easy way. That being said I am not afraid of wiring. This was easy to install on my 2006 Wing once I looked at everything. I only needed to remove the rear tire cover (where the license plate mounts) and accessed the wiring from there. Helps if you have the service manual. Look for the green wire with a very thin red stripe on both sides. You will have to add some wire. I located the unit on the left side and extended the right side wires to reach. LOVE the effect in mode 1. Definetly a good buy on this item if you can work on bikes. |

The installation took some doing, but the results were worth the work. I only hooked up the trunk lights. Wanted the lower brake lights to operate normally. Easiest to remove tail lights on trunk and make connections at connector on outer lights (both left and right). Green wire w/red stripe is brake wire. Other green wire is ground. Brown wire is hot for running lights. Mounted module in trunk (rear right). Pretty clean installation, but tight fit. Even added a small switch to easily change between the two operating modes. |

This unit is not for everyone. Can be intimidating to install. Did not like cutting into bikes wiring. Wiring diagram leaves a LOT to be desired. Took me over two hours to install. Got it working but I wish they could make it more plug and play. I would gladly have paid more for that. |

I was disappointed when I received this unit because installation requires cutting into the Goldwings wiring harness. In today's market I expect a little more effort on the part of the manufacturer to integrate aftermarket parts less invasively and more seamlessly. Add a bike specific wiring harness and charge a little more! |

I was dissapointed when I received this unit because installation requires cutting into the bikes wiring. I'm not willing to do this so I'm sending the unit back. |

Now this is one cool unit! Works great. Draws attention to the bike, which is exactly what you want when you get on the brakes. A little squeeze on the brake handle gets the tailgaters to back off a little, too. Anything you can do to be seen is a good thing and this little box fills the bill nicely! Every bike should have one! |
