GL1500 SE
Has anyone installed this unit on the GL1500? All the reviews I see are for the GL1800. |

Very nice SAFETY item!
I installed mine on both top and bottom trunk brake lights after replacing the bulbs with good quality bright 7440 leds. Additionally I have the spoiler LED wired to emit quick flashes for 4 seconds. Arizona revised MVD statute allows up to 5 seconds of continuous flashing for non emergency use. Found out this is a GREAT SAFETY ITEM when someone is tailgating you at almost 75 mph! Jackass backed off immediately then took closest exit! |

Trunk Wig Wag Update
Great attention getter! I removed the bottom cover of the trunk and mounted the unit to the bottom of the trunk. This makes for easy access to the trunk tail light wiring. The cover protects the unit and is out of the way and trunk. I drilled a 1/4" hole near the helmet lock for a 3 position micro switch to change patterns. If one wires their bike as I did, I recommend using red LED bulbs. The unit reports to handle only 10 amps. 4 - 7443 incandescent bulbs are right at 10 amps. I know, a little more involved installation but what else do I have to do beside chase women and ride? :-) |

ATTENTION GETTER
Just installed mine, I'm not big on all the bling out there but I do like safety and fuctional additions. This aboslutely grabs the attention of the people behind you. Install took about an hour and half. Excelent video on U-tube (search "backoff" "goldwing" "install". everything bundles below the trunk so it is easier to take of the rear fender to access the brake wires. Good Luck |

Installed on a 2012
The installation of this device on a 2012 GL1800 is a little more involved than the previous models on account of the '12's have a 4-brake light system. The Wig-Wag device is designed to ONLY operate 2-bulbs, so you can't make your connections at the electrical plug under the trunk. Instead you have to cut the wires at the bulb connector for each brake light bulb. I would suggest mounting the module in the trunk (not under the seat) so you can more easily route the wires behind the plastic trim covers. Once the wiring was done the Wig Wag work as intended. The Module is the same size in area as a business card so it doesn't take up much space in the trunk. The construction of the module is all metal with built in heat fins. I'm not aware of the module getting hot, so no need to worry about air flow. Installation was NOT difficult and it's worth the installation effort. |

Trunk Wig Wag
'06 Wing has 4 lights. 2 on each side. I rigged Back Off so that 2 inner lights wig wag with 2 out lights on. Then all 4 flash. The bag lights stay solid. I then put a micro switch in trunk to change pattern. Thinking about putting a spoiler with light on but don't know how it lights or if I want it. Wing has 6 tail / brake lamps as is. |

2 Yrs and still going strong
This is a follow up to my previous 21 Aug 10 review. As you can see by the title my Wig Wag modulator is now two years old and still going strong. Just to let you know, I have my normal brake lights hooked, my saddle bag Kuryayn lights and run a trailer with 5 sets of lights with various number of LED lights and so far (knock on wood) no problems! Based on comments here I'm living on the "Wild Side", but if I get three years of safety out of these it's worth it for $35 and then go buy another. Good product, good sales and best prices!! Wing Stuff you're all alone on top of the aftermarket business!!! |

Wig Wag
Great product, delivered very quickly..thank you Wingstuff. I have a 2002 1800 Trike and the wiring is different on it than regular 2 wheel. I wired it into the harness but have trunk & back lights flashing simultaneously. I would have had to rewire both sets of trunk lights to flash left/right. Other than that, I am happy with brightness of flashes. Hopefully many others will see the flashes as well! |

Just had installed
I just had my local Honda dealer (Coyote Honda - Avondale, Arizona) install this while they had it open to change the air filter after 13,000 miles on my 2007 GL1800. Cost was .5 hrs labor, or about $40. First impressions - Wingstuff of course was right on task delivering my package in a timely manner. I had this installed so that it does the initial blinking and then stays solid while at a full stop. It works as advertised and even had a two folks pull up next to me letting me know they were Goldwing Riders and thought that the added safety measure really stood out. My wife even caught up with me and drove behind me about a mile away and said that it really stood out as I was breaking. Next time I have the seat off I will see how Coyote Honda installed it and if possible I will try and get a good picture of it with clear definitions of how it went together. I will try and get on here and do a follow up review, at least to mark how long it has been working or any issues that might come up. |
