With 22k miles on the ODO i figured it was time to attend to this beast so i can return to the Tail of the Dragon and do it justice. Before I changed the bearings I raised the from wheel and was able to move it 1/8 inch front to back...all due to worn bearings. After changing the bearings snugging with 27 ft-lbs torque all the slop is gone. Steering is firm and precise now. Thanks all balls. |

These work. Bottom line just look at contact patch area between roller bearing & ball bearings. On my 06 the bottom race had a piece of metal under it, so original bearing was never "square" to steering head. |

I installed these myself following Honda Service Manual instructions. This job takes some time but the results are well worth it. Wobble is gone. This product exceeded my expectations. Hint: The wing forums are helpful with special tool workarounds. |

No question these bearings corrected the GL1800 front fork wobble and provided a huge difference in stability. The front end corners so sweet I can not even find the words to describe it. I am talking slow speed as well, no more uncertainty while crusing for a parking spot in the parking lot. Total control. |

I just ordered and recieved 2 sets of these. One for my friends '03 and the other for my '08. We install them on the '03 first and my buddy went for a test ride. He came back and was very impressed to say the least. Saying that he didn't realize he needed them until now. No more wobble. We then tackled my '08. It was a little more work due to the nav. The shelter had to come off but not a big deal. Put in the Progessive springs at the same time. WOW what a difference!!! Should have done this upgrade long ago. It takes a while to complete the job but is very worthwhile. Take your time. |

After talking to Dave in service about the wobble in the front end of my 1800, he told me that he recommended that I replace the head bearings with the all balls, and a good fork brace. After removing the stock bearings and seeing what Honda had used I knew that I couldn't go wrong replacing them. The All Balls bearings are so much superior than the stock, they aren't even in the same realm. Install was not that bad of a job. Just like anything take your time, read directions, and you will be very happy with the out come. The bike now handels better than it did off the floor, by far!!! Dont procrastinate about fixing the problem we all deal with riding our wings!!! You will love the difference these make. |

Got the bearings on the bike and even with the tires messed up from the stock junk bearings my wing is now smooth and the shakes are gone at all speeds.I will be sending the old bearings back to Honda with a nice letter.I had reported the problem with them at 3500 miles. They should atleast give the cost of the bearings back and should get labor also but that will never happen because I am not A CERTIFIED CLUELESS MECHANIC.Anyone can do this if you are able to change the oil in your auto. |

When I get these bearings and they are made out of a better material than the plastic stock gold wing bearings are I should not have any more shakes. You can not keep retighting a plastick caseing, that will compress the plastic case bind the bearings, Dose not take Harvard degree to see this. Will report back after the install. Waiting on beaerings should be here Fri. or Sat.Honda engineers not to bright or just trying to save $10.00 or waiting for somebody to get hurt because of this stupid junk on a not so cheap bike,Got mine new.If this does not fix it I will go to a Harley atleast they will stand behind their product.Maybe someone should send all of the reviews to the Honda corporation.Just a thougt. |

I had to replace the fork seals on my 01, so I thought why not change the bearings while I had the front off. It was a little difficult getting the old one out, but finally with a little help from the trusty Dremel, I got them out. I had a local dealer press the ones onto the stem just to be safe. I made my own tool for the steering nut out of galvanized pipe, again cutting out the indentions with the Dremel. At the same time I had the deal install the progressive springs because I had them on a previous Wing I had owned and loved them. Even with 10,000 miles on the Bridgestones, I could tell an immediate difference in the low speed handling. I would never have taken my hands off of the handlebars before, but I just had to try it once and the bike ran true and straight. I am ready for a new stone on front and can't wait to see how many miles I get out of it. My advice is, if you've got to take the front-end off for any reason, go ahead and install these then. I asked my dealer why didn't Honda admit there was a problem and install these bearings on the new ones. He said they would have to do a recall on all of the older bikes and it would cost too much. |

installed these in the 08 with only 14000 miles on the bike because of severe wobble and wow what a difference. I should have put these in the 02, this is not something most people will tackle but again the bearings are great. |
