Link for installations instructions no longer on web site. After three emails I had to call them. Call went great, got link to instructions emailed to me. Pictures for installation leave a lot to be desired. Have not completed installation at this time but I expect the radio to work well. |

Great Replacement
Just received the CB radio from Wingstuff, best price on the web and fast service on receiving it. I had one installed when I picked up my trike in 2011. Radio was working great till early 2019 and then I kept getting fault code on the CB. Prices were over $700.00 and I did not know if I wanted to spend the money for a replacement. Glad I waited I saved over $150.00, thanks Wingstuff. Easy to install, the hardest part was cleaning out my trunk. Always great stuff and service from WINGSTUFF! |

Not as hard as I first thought
Installation was not as hard as I thought it would first be. There is a lot of Tupperware to remove but if you take your time and bag the fasteners you'll be Ok. One thing I would suggest is checking the ground at the plug under the top shelter. Especially if you are getting feedback in your external speakers. So far I have been very happy with it but I haven't used it to much since I installed it due to the heat. Not very many are out riding. :( |

Honda CB radio kit
Shipping was fast. Install was breeze. Bought the Honda antenna and everything work the first time. Easy install on a 2013 GL1800 gen2. Everything was pre wired. This is the only way to go if you want to install a CB on your bike. |

Works well once again wingstuff offering another item that has no install instructions.
Several parts to this review.First and what most want to see. Installed it, it works well. I give it a 5 for fit, install ability and performance however me only tested it at home. No real install instructions for most I believe would knocks off two stars. I have first a gen 2008 wing which does require the seat to be removes and drilling a hole through the bottom of the trunk to pass the cables from the trunk to the two-wire power plug under the seat and to run the larger multi pin connector up to where the CB connector is. Judging from the reviews it would appear the 2nd gen wing the cables are in the CB trunk compartment so make sure one orders the correct CB or the first gen wing or one will wonder why the cables are so short. To describe where 1st gen wing CB plug is located just looking at the bike, the right-side vent louvers just below where one’s knee would be while ridding. Behind and near the louvers is the CB plug. Not to hard to get to. No need to remove the entire shelter. Take the right glove box out, I did remove the door lever cable to get the box out of the way. Remove the edge body trim piece. Remove edge screws, Mark them as they are different lengths. After the seat is removed just in front of where the seat was there is a bolt on the lower edge right side securing the shelter remove it. Can’t remember there may have been one other screw at the bottom. That will allow for enough flex to pull the bottom right side of the shelter below the vent louver to gain access to the CB cable. With not much effort it should flex enough room if not after a slight test pull check for any attachment points or screws that need undone. Looking for the cable mine had a very easy to see label saying “CB”. One will have to reach up and under to get to the cable connector in order not to flex the shelter too much. There is room to tuck the cable under the bottom edge of the shelter back toward the seat. It is really not much of a job took me about an hour taken my time. The radio came two filters that plugs inline to the fuel pump and fan to keep electronic noise down. I did not install them as I did not experience any background noise. If need be after use, I will install them. Once the right side is loose, at that point it is plug and play. I did get an error at fist. Might have come for residual affect of the previous Mp3 CB. I did a up and down change on the CB channel selector and error went away. Antenna kits have good instructions install easily. Second part of the review. My bike (used) did not have a CB radio. I purchased a wingstuff CB radio they sold thousands of 4 years ago. The CB radio called a Mp3 CB radio. The owners of the no longer business name is Pete. The radios work great for a few years then the start having trouble. I know of four who purchased them and ended up trashing them. I was surprised wingstuff sold such a crappy product. If one sees a used wing CB for sale make sure it is NOT a Mp3 CB. |
