Do it yourself

Better sound quality for music listening than my last headset installed in the Nolan. This time, I decided to install it myself in the new Shoei Neotec. It's a very tight fit and I didn't really like modifying the earholes to get the earphones to fit. I'm not sure I did it correctly and the instructions for doing so were not particularly clear. There seems to be a lot of extra wire with no place to go. Wingstuff offers to put it all together for a price. It might be worth it.

Sound Not Worth The Money

I've had this unit in both helmets for about a month now and they sound horrible. I took my GL to the dealer who turned the mute volume down and the sound slightly improved. I read in another review that the location of the speakers in the helmet is the key. My unit was factory installed so that might be the problem. I'll look into relocating my speakers because in 2016 audio is crystal clear and my unit is not.

I won't give a star rating until I get the speakers relocated. My fingers are crossed.

so so quality

sadly the word "engineer" falls short now-a-days.

fault number one, there is absolutely no base in the earphones. once I place the stereo on the bike speakers I have base so one cant blame my 99 Goldwing 1500SE.

someone else commented on the following...

fault number two, the raiser cord from the bike to helmet needs a redesign. after only 20 minutes of ride time in the first use I lost the left ear. found that the cord pulled slightly out of the D shaped connector. it did it again about an hour later. they need to be designed with a locking mechanism.

if you have sensitivity to treble like I do, then you might wanna seek out someone with headsets & TRY BEFORE YOU BUY!!! I have to have the sound so low that on some music, I cant even hear the words.

I do not think this headset is worth $170. more like $70, I am not a cheapskate at all. just expected more overall quality based on the infommercial on the 787 series.

Very, very good sound quality!

Got the Elite 787's after lots of research and recommendations. Installed easily and in a small amount of time... Plugged in and was very impressed. They sound great and work well with all the Honda options (music, CB, Intercom, et al). Using them on a 96 GL1500 SE... A bit pricey but worth it for the quality. Figure an additional $60 for the required cord per helmet...

Outstanding sound

This Elite 787 replaced a Sena unit and it is far better IMO. I have never heard sound this full and far ranging as these new speakers. My speakers are the thicker ones and It took some interior cutting to give a comfortable fit but the results were worth it! These speakers, like all speakers, are sensitive to proper placement. If you can make a temporary placement, do so and then adjust. You will hear it when you hit the sweet spot and you will be amazed. Good luck. It also works great with a Bluetooth and phone calls! 2008 GL1800 ABS
