longer rod

They sent me the longer rod and there was a bit more shaking in the video. The camera makes all the difference here. My lower end midland video, did not fair too well. The go pro had better image stabilization and did very well.
I have to say they fixed it for the GoPro but not for the lower end video cameras.

Caution- longer rod, more moment

A word of caution w/ regard to making the rods or extensions longer. To solve the vent obstruction issue may create another w/ regard to moments of inertia. The longer the rods, the more moment & increased probability of increased vibrations, thus poor video. Their "vibration dampening" washers/ gaskets appear to provide minimal protection in this regard. I hope the company takes this aspect of mechanics into serious consideration in their solution search. I would also like to see a short segment of actual video taken w/ any camera while mounted on their system..proof is in the seeing ;-)

Spoke with the manufacturer about windshield vent issue

I spoke with Tracy at leader about this product and they advised that they were working on making the main tube a couple of inches longer. No definite resolution yet, but I should know something in a week or so. I will post an update when it is available. either good or bad!

Good idea but falls short!

Good idea but falls short! By reading their description you get the idea that the mounting positions are almost endless. They neglect to tell you that if you have a vented windshield and want to video in front of you then it gives half of your video of the vent. The rod needs to be a few inches longer. This will work if you dont have a vent.
Left me disappointed, and having fabricate my own solution.
