Not A good Feeling

I have less than 5000 miles on these tires and blew the rear tire out running 75 mph with my wife on the back and pulling a trailer. Was not a good felling.Im running centramatic wheel balancers and check the air presure the morning we left from Saint Augustine. Im taking the front tire of before summer because it is cupped, should have got more miles than 5000 miles.

Bad Tire Bad service

I bought a pair of these tires after 1800 miles the rear suddenly started making a rumbling sound. I checked it and the left side of the tire started to cup very badly right side and center of it are still perfect as is the front tire. I contacted Wing stuff and the told me I had to contact Avon. I have emailed Avon and they haven't bothered to reply. I have changed the rear tire with another brand for fear of the tire coming apart. I actually liked the tire until that point but 1800 miles life is unacceptable and they could have at least answered my email.

Avon on my Wing

After the originals wore out on my 08 Wing, I’ve always had Avon tires on my bike. We bought the bike new in 2010. We now have 62k+ miles. This time around I was thinking of trying something else. Glad I stayed. So quiet. So good in the corners. Nice in the rain and still better than the original with tar snakes. These are great.

I’m not sure how many total miles I get on a set. We are about safe fun. I don’t run them all the way to end of life as I am not interested in having an issue while moving on the bike. We ride 2 up about 90% of the miles. My wife is an amazing passenger and loves the twisties and good corner riding plus a little zoom-zoom. It’s true, lucky me!

Prior to this set always bought them from Cycle Specialties in Portland who does my bike work. The owner, Mark Cole, recommended these to me originally. He was right. This time I bought the tires from WingStuff and Cycle Specialties installed. If you need work done in the Portland-Vancouver area, they’re the ones!

Strongly recommend and the pricing is great here at WingStuff!

Awesome results

My wing is my daily driver. Rain or shine save truly severe weather. I picked up my current (4th wing) used in Aug of 14 with 2k miles on it. As of Sept of 17 I turned 70k. That said; when your a guy like those of us who change tires at least once a year, you develope an opinion about tires. To start, not a fan a Metzler or Dunlops. They dont last quite as long and handling is sub par to compitition. Bridgestones are terrific handling for about 8-10k from new. In their defense, Ive avg 17k on them...NIce! (4 sets), but again, they only seem to ride like newish for about 8-10k, then its a matter of getting what you can out of them. Im on my 2nd set of Avon Cobras and Im really impressed by how long they can still feel like new. My first set made it 17k, same as the Bridgestones. My 2nd set has already passed 17k and appear to still have (by looking at the wear bars) another 5kish in them. Face it, mileage is always financially critical. That said, what impresses me about these is that they feel and handle at 17k not unlike what they felt like when they only had 2k on them. Now thats sayin something! How many of you have put on new tires to say WOW! These feel great! Well, I still feel that way at 17k with these skins, and I can say that about both sets Ive owned! To wrap up, anyone can get long or short life out of anybodys tires. For me, Ive experianced that these last as long or longer than any other. Whats really impressive to me is they ride and handle like newer tires far longer than any other set of skins Ive ever had the pleasure to ride. For me, that makes it funner longer and thats what its all about...for me anyway...

Great in the curves!

I've had the Cobras on my 2002 GL1800 for about 1000 miles now, and am very pleased with the performance. I was riding on Dunlop Elite 3s, which were fine, but didn't handle black snakes very well, and developed uneven tire wear and some cupping after about 13000 miles. I was intrigued by the reviews of the Cobras.

My experience so far is really excellent. These tires are smooth and grippy in the curves. Solid as a rock. Even my wife can tell the difference. Now, I have to confess that I also had All Balls stem bearings installed about 5000 miles before the tire change. That made a huge improvement to handling, and eliminated my low speed wobble problem, which could have caused the uneven wear and cupping on the Elite 3s. Still, the Cobras do seem to have taken it to the next level. I am extremely pleased, and highly recommend!
