The plug & play isolator wire harness (part #RIGL18007IU) and hitch ball (part #RIGL18007B or RIGL18007C) are sold separately and are required for proper functionality of your trailer hitch. Please see related products below.

The Universal Trailer Wiring Harness will work on the 2nd Gen models, however you will have to cut and splice the wire. It is not a plug and play option, as it is with older model GL1800's.

Rivco Trailer Hitch for GL1800 2nd Gen Honda Gold Wing is super strong and light. Designed to be completely hidden when receiver is removed. Hitch is strong enough to lift the 834.3 lbs GL1800 and does not restrict the ability to remove the rear tire. Machined entirely out of Aircraft Aluminum & weighing only 8 lbs! This GL1800 2nd Gen Receiver Trailer Hitch is one of the strongest and lightest Gold Wing trailer hitches on the market today.

Note: For F6B, Rivco hitch requires relocation of wiring in order to mount strut arms during installation.

Hitch

The hitch over all is nice. I think unless you have some type mechanical skill you should not install it on your own. I just did mine and I have been working on motorcycles my whole life. I bought a 2012 goldwing ordered the hitch right away. When I got it I was shocked at how poor the instruction were. On my bike I had to take the inner fender loose and move the wiring harness on the right side so it would not be pinched by the support bar. I also had to loosen the mufflers to get it in. None of this is in the instructions. So take your time.

This is a very nice product, it made a neat installation however the instructions are not clear as in reference to photos, as the photos were not numbered to match the description. it took about 4 hours to install, however this is about right
