I installed the vance&hines first was getting the drone noise at cruising speed then later installed the torque loops drone sound is gone they sound great when at idle or opening up the bike at cruising speed cant tell there even on the bike just was I was looking for in sound and performance.I suggest doing research on whatever your doing to your bike.
I purchased these from a dealer instead of Wingstuff. The dealer actually had a lower price. 1st mistake, Couldn't send them back. Install on 2012, was easy enough, took me about an hour by myself. Used the existing gaskets without a problem. They are too short for the 2012 model, need to be at least 6" longer to get out past the bags. And that's why I think the sound isn't what I want. Riding about 45 to 50 MPH the sound is more like a roaring sound than a deeper power sound, actually makes my ears ring no mater what kind of helment I wear. But people riding beside or behind me say they love the sound. After riding a Valk for all those years I was expecting more. On the plus side, they did cause me to get better gas milage. I don't know how but the bike does get about 5 more mpg with the Monsters than it does with the stock pipes. I wish V&H would make them longer for the newer bikes, maybe I would be more satisfied. As for me, I would not purchase these again.
Had these pipes for 10 months and noticed the chrome peeling off one of the end caps. I was ready for a fight but within a week I had a new end cap. Great customer service. Since I had to put the new one on, I decided it would be a good time to try no baffles. That was the exact sound I wanted "in the garage". Going down the road was another story. It's not that it's loud, it's the harmonics or droan sound. I've decided I like them just as they came. If the chrome gives me a problem again I think I will get the end caps powder coated black so I don't have to clean the inside of the caps all the time. Still 5 stars for customer service and a good product. Wish they would come out with turndowns though.
I bought a pair of these pipes for my 2012 GW here about a year ago. To say that I'm a happy camper is an understatement. They look great and sound even better. 3rd gear really moves out now. The chrome is first rate like all Vance and Hines pipes. I have no problem keeping up with almost any bike on the road. They really fill out under the saddlebags. Alot better than the stock pipes. You definitely will not be disappointed with these .
I frequently ride with some Honda 1300 STS riders and had been unable to keep up. With these Slip ons, I have no problem riding with the hot rod performance bikes. The wing does not corner as well as the STS, but the performance is there! I love my 06 Goldwing! Still considering adding the torque loops.
