We are confident you will find a major improvement in suspension by replacing the stock fork springs with these Progressive Fork Springs for GL1800 Gold Wing. The best thing you could do for better handling on any GL1800 Goldwing or Goldwing F6B.
I installed these Fork Springs and was concerned about if different problems would arise being that I did it myself. NO PROBLEM, I did take the time to do some extra things such as all ball bearing on the spindle and check brake pads. No war stories, these springs went in easily and did not have to make any other adjustment to the hydraulics. The smoothness of the ride over ruff sections of the road was better than with the stock springs. Worth the money and time to do the work.
installed these and bike rides great, have not had any issues with the front end being too stiff like stated below. I put the rear spring on also but had these on the 02 and put 100,000 miles on them and loved them, I only have 70,000 on the 08 right now so still braking in....(:
I think this is a good idea to put on wings and would include the rear spring also.
Well I am about 330 and had both the front and rear springs changed. After talking to Progressives support team they advised me to add about 3/8 of an inch to my spacers. That was 380 miles ago and I would do it all over again. Improved my ride and because I am a little heavier rider the plush factor has increase 10 fold. I also had the stem bearings changed but decided not to use a brace. Thumbs up on the springs.
And we can't wait to show you how it's done!
