Great product; just add LocTite

These arrived with the brackets bolted to the deflectors; all that had to be done was mount the mounting brackets. Directions were pretty clear and they went on perfectly. They do a good job of moving the air... BUT.

At Americade I discovered that several of the nuts had vibrated loose. I had to run down to Home Depot and buy nuts and replacement screws. There is NO REASON this should have happened - manufacturer should have torqued nuts properly, and if they're not going to use locknuts (I used Nylock nuts), then they should be LocTiting the darned things.

If you buy them, pull the nuts off and LocTite them back on. You'll be glad you did.

I love these Wind Deflectors. They are a great addition to my 1993 GL1500.I did as a few others mentioned and used a little lock tite on the threads of the small lock nuts so they would stay in place. I also ground down the top bracket end as others have so it would not scrach my paint. Other then that these are a wonderful accessorie and would gladly recommend them.

I love this longer style deflector. I grabbed them in translucent blue to match my wing. Easy to install and use.

These deflectors work very well in both hot and cold weather. They're easy to adjust while riding and don't get in the way. I took the advice of another reviewer and put threadlocker on the chrome nuts. Be prepared, though, you do need to grind the inboard ends of the mount arm to keep it from messing up the fairing. I painted the exposed ends with Hammerite grey paint to keep from rusting. So far so good.
