show chrome exhaust tips are junk

I purchased 2 sets of these by accident. Had them on the bike for 2 months and the chrome started peeling really bad so i got out my other set thinking it was just a bad one, well i am three months in and the other set is doing the same thing. What a waste of money, nothing will ever go on my bike from show chrome again. After two bad experiences with show chrome im done. If I was able to give a -5 stars I would

Looks great and easy to install

Just remember that you should definitely pre-treat the bolts by saturating them with WD40 or similar for 24 hrs. It will make the removal of the bolts easier and less likely to severe the head. You're constrained by the way the exhaust pipe is hanging. In my case the left tip truns to the right slightly. It's only visible if you're looking for it. They look great and I lathered them with wax. I expect they will result in less heated exjaust hitting the lower trike trunk and Pakit Rak luggage bag.

The chrome doesn't hold up well

Easy intall and looked great the first 2 years I had them. When I pulled the winter cover of this spring I noted they were pitted badly. Looked fine last fall. The bike is always garaged. They now look like a 1950s chrome fender that you'd find in the junk yard today. None of the other chromed add-on parts I've installed look even remotely like this and most have been on the bike longer. The rest of the bike still looks pristine. I'll probably reinstall the oem tips in a couple weeks.

Works great with Hitch

Have a trailer hitch with a Pakit Rak in it for long haul trips out West. This deflects the heat down, and off the luggage rack. Looks good stand alone too. Have had these on 2 Wings now.

Bought in July 2013. also bought the Kuryakyn to compare the two. The kuryakyn was a thicker metal and seamed to be a better quality and fit the bike nicely. I liked the these because they turn down more than the Kuryakyn did. The thing I didn't like is that they turned in slightly toward the tire. But I wanted the full turn down so I kept these. They have been on the bike for 1yr.8months & 8000mi. and still look new. Would have given 5star gut because of the slight turn in I gave the 4star.
