Just installed (front and rear), along with new front brake pads. Put 50 miles on them this morning; the ride is very smooth compared to before the installation. I am still testing, but feel they perform better than just "good." They make some noise - I can hear the beads slosh around inside the tubes at <20mph. Not overly bothersome - time will tell . . . As of today, I would say a good purchase. The "ride" itself is very good. I will update my post once I have more experience under my belt.

well the new black powder coated finish on these wheel balancers are really nice. I have not installed them yet but from what others say about the ride I am looking forward to it. I am looking forward to a good season.

I have had my Centramatic balancer on for about 5 months now. After installing, I noticed a significant difference in the handling of the bike. Having put them on my own bike, about 6 other Goldwinger have had me install them on their bikes. They all have the same positive impressions. Some here have expressed comments about the costs of the balancers. Well, I would counter that we all spend a lot of money on "safety chrome" and think nothing of it. Here is a chance to spend some money on something that will give one a ROI and at the same time there is a side benifit of improved handling and tire longivity. Money well spent! Buckskin

The principle behind the product is dead on. Balancing your tire through it’s life has to be a good thing. However, keeping cost in mind, one has to wonder the benefit that this product has versus adding 4 Oz of balancing beads. It would be great to have testing done against both of these products. One cost you $10 bucks every tire change while the other cost $250 but only once. It's hard to think of my next 25 tire change outs before I break even.

Just installed the new powder coated balancers on my 2006 goldwing. So far they work great with the balancing of the tires, will see what kind of milage I get out of the Bridgestones I installed with them. Took on the challenge to change my own tires with a good friend who is also a GWRRA associate, and he showed me alot about installing tires, make sure you know what you are doing before you try this yourself. Would have been nice if they had paperwork or stamps in the center that states which side goes next to the rim. I read many reviews about the paint problems others were having, and I love the powder coat, will see how they hold up to the hear and rain of the South Carolina weather. Will keep you informed with the status.

Well, gave a review 5 months ago about the poor workmanship on the product. Paint flaking off and peeling on all 3 units. Was contacted by the company that they had a bad batch get pass them and they would replace the ones I had. I thought that this was going to be great relationship with this company. 5 months later no word or replacement. Getting ready to go on a trip so had to spend $150.00 for the dealer to put them on, flaking paint and all. Hope they work better than they look. Will give another review after a thousand miles or so, if they don't rust off first. :-).....

I had a set installed on 2/13 by Wingstuff, along with a set of E3's. There was no minimum speed to achieve before they started working, it was instantanous. On the 40+ mile trip home I had the opportunity to venture into the upper speed area and found that even there it was smooth as silk. I will update this in 5 to 6 months to let folks know how they are doing.

Got the Balancers and have them install at the dealer; The comments about smooth ride 100% truth. I've benn using them for 2,000 miles and I hope that the increase of tire life will be also as good as the way my Goldwing handles at high speeds.

Had them installed yesterday...notable smoothness at 40+ mph. Anxious to see other benefits. The jury is still out!

I had these installed by WingStuff and what a difference! The ride is much smoother and the vibration (although slight) that I felt through the right handlebar has all but disappeared. My front tire was (prior to the install) showing some uneven wear, but the more I ride, the more that seems to be correcting itself. I spoke to Geoff, the Centramatic rep, prior to the installation and was told these can help correct wear issues. The man knows his business. After putting about 800 miles on the bike Charlie (in service at WingStuff) even noticed the tire looks like it's correcting. As ekurtike mentioned, watch your speed. After leaving WingStuff and getting on the freeway I was frustrated that traffic was moving so slowly. I looked down and saw I was doing 85. Now that's smooth. I know of one person who put on new tires and the Centramatics and now has 13k on the tires. Yup. The rear too. Tires are still in good shape. If you're on the fence, jump off and get a set. Expensive? A bit. But these are without doubt one of the best investments I've made. Or, you can go over to the GWRRA tech board, ask the question, and listen to all the old codgers, who have never used them, tell you they don't work and how they've been riding since 19 diggity three and only use rocks and spit to balance they're tires. I'll take the Centramatics.

Just had these installed with my last service. Along with new tires, these really make the ride much smoother. Wonderful product. Hope to get more mileage out of these tires as advertised. Thanks WingStuff for the great service job.

Installed the Centramatic Wheel Balancers with a new set of Avon Cobra tires on my 2008 Wing. WOW what a great ride. Perfect balance at all speeds. No hands free wobble and takes turns like on a rail. WING MAN for 29 years.

I have been running the Centramatic Balancers since mid July - I purchased mine at Wing Ding. I did the install myself on my 06' GL1800 with ABS. I'm here to tell you my bike has never been so smooth. Prior to installation I had some cupping on the front tire (was running E3's) and after a week with the balancers the cupping was completely gone. At that time I had 18K miles on my tires and I rode them for another 4K miles before replacing the tires. I had my mechanic (independent shop)ride the bike with the balancers and he immediately called and became a dealer. That's how impressed he was with the balancers. These are the single best investment I have made for my Wing. As the old TV commercial said - Try it you'll like it. As for the low rating given by Trev, well maybe he needs to first get rid of the car tire he is riding. Not only are car tires not designed for motorcycles, but they are dangerous in corners - do a search on UTUBE for Goldwing with car tire and watch the road level video - sobering to say the least! Keep the rubber side down Smitty

A rotating mass in balance should not vibrate as graphically shown in their own video. A Wing in neutral at 2500 rpm on the main stand does not vibrate. These things are not mounted on the Wing as per their video demo. (the ring is mounted on the outer edge of the rim on a small wheel in the video, (it is inside the disc diameter on a Wing). Why not set up a Wing rear wheel with the single centramatic for the demo. My basic test has shown the rear wheel did not balance. It may be that the front wheel when fitted with two balancers will work. Trev.

10 stars not on drop down.... I have never felt a better smoother ride. Well worth it and the first 7,000 miles of new tires looked more like only half that. 700-1,000 mile day ride seem easier and less tiring. As for the only low rating above.... I am glad it was mentioned that a car tire was used with the balance ring. A car tire will require more weight than what is inside intended for a GL1800 rated rear tire. There is a reason that the competitor has tire size charts for the correct weight usage. You will notice an improvement on the front (with "trike" kit).

I bought these from WingStuff and had them installed at Venco Wings. my '08 wing was smooth before the installation and the ride was even better after. an interesting note here. I called and spoke to Centramatic before ordering and was advised to run 41 to 42 pounds of air in the front and 42 in the rear - which I now do, +/- a half a pound. at first I was bothered by the construction, but since these are warranted, I chose to ignore that for now and give them a try. would I install them again? YUP!

I ordered the balancers and will soon be putting them on my 1800. The finish is a bit rough, but not horrific. The rear balancer will be hidden. No big deal. The front balancers will barely be visable (I have chrome brake rotor covers). Again, no big deal if they perform as advertised. I am not sure testing them while the bike is on it's center stand is prudent or altogether wise/safe. As for testing in this manner, the rear wheel assembly would basically be floating with only the swing arm supporting the wheel configuration. This doesn't/wouldn't seem to compare to how the wheel and it's assembly would react when on the ground supporting the weight of the bike as it's being driven down the road. Hmmm . . . Certainly, using a car tire for a rear wheel solution is not safe (there has been a lot written and there is a lot of published evidence that would speak against this practice). In fact, my 1800 mechanic told me about an accident that killed the driver and his wife where a car tired was used for the rear. The driver apparently lost control around a corner, which is what is typically written about when someone elects to use a car tire and when an accident occurs . . . In my humble opinion, the extra miles offered, etc., by using a car tire is not worth the risk. Anyway, I am expecting a great experience with these balancers based on all of the feedback. Except for how they look, all of the feedback reading many different boards tells me that they are the cat's meow - I'll let you know!

Having received these units, as others have said, very poor finish. Mine look like they were sand blasted and painted to a very rough finish, like sand paper to the touch. I had thought from the video that these things have a Moly oil in the ring? Why do mine sound dry when moving the bike by hand? I have only fitted the rear so far as it cannot be seen. Started the bike on the main stand and let it run in 5th gear up to 80 kph indicated speed. My trunk lid was unlatched and was bouncing up and down. I do run a car tire on the rear but so far am not convinced about these things. I am unlikely to fit the front units due to there ugly appearance and poor finish. Trev.
