AJ and his shop crew installed this today. I thought this was a necessary safety improvement as a club member was just rear-ended at a stop light. Seems like it works fine to me, and I like how it's high on the bike where car drivers are looking and hopefully see I'm braking or turning!

I just got these and installed them this past weekend. The instructions and photos given to follow were very poor but, taking my time, looking at the parts laid out on the table by the bike with the trunk lid apart, I was able to figure it out. Took about 1-1/2 hours. Looks great! Works great! Can't wait to see it with my trailer behind - it should add some heads-up rear lighting for safety. I'll still give 5 stars dispite poor instructions/photos.

Read the earlier posts on suggestions for installation. They are more helpful than the instructions. I installed the product today and look forward to many years of service and visibility from this product. You get great bling plus safety feature, the best of two products in one.

Bought this GL1800 spoiler light upgrade last year and have very pleased with the look and added safety it offers. Adds much needed lighting to where it matters most, the rear of your bike! My stock spoiler light was only a brake light, this acts as running and a brake light.
In addition it has amber turn signals that blink on each end when using my turn signals. Being seen better always sounds good to me, and it looks like the stock light, just with all the added lighting features. Very happy with this purchase. Frank

Just installed this unit and all I can say is I should have done this sooner. I'm not sure why some complain this is truely a plug and play unit. The instructions were very clear and it works perfectly when wired as the instructions say. This looks great in daylight can't wait for a night ride. Installed on 2007 Wing with Nav and comfort. Oh this is made by Add On Accessories.

Installed this unit today - it works just fine, and I am very satified with it.
However, there is no excuse for the terribly written installation instructions - hence my rating is only three stars.
The instructions are poorly written and flat incorrect from the start. I asked a service rep at the manufacturing company to unravel the instructions for me - he finally told me that he couldn't make sense out of them.
IF you are an intuitive mechanic AND read the advice in prior reviews, you can work around the instructions - but you shouldn't have to. How can this product be a "Staff Pick" with such poor install material?

Works as advertised. The leads going from the spoiler to the factory wiring in the trunk lid could be a bit longer. I couldn't tuck the connectors in with the rest of the wires so they interfered a bit with reinstalling the trunk lid inner cover until you position them just right. Other than that, great product. By the way it looks like they got the wire colors corrected. I hooked it up as per the instructions and it worked right the first time. They might want to think about printing from an original with the instructions. They were very blurry. Because of this the pictures were useless.

Just put the spoiler on with this light and it works and looks great. As was stated earlier, the wiring in the trunk is reversed from what was stated in the instructions.

clearly another Great product sold by Wingstuff. Any Big Thank You to Sam for giving that Great part about the switching the wires. tks. but one problem i am having with my 2007 GL1800 is when i put the four ways on the light shorts out i guess they didn't think of that when they were putting this together.. easy to install and the instructions were not too bad " needs better pictures "

I am going to give this product five stars ONLY because it works as advertised. I say this because if it wasn't for Larry's posting on 5/14/09 I too would be calling Tech Support to find out why my light, when properly installed, didn't work, and my rating for this product would be much lower. As Larry said in his review, you will have to REVERSE the RED and GREEN wires in the trunk (i.e., connect the RED wire coming from the light to the GREEN wire on the short wire that connects to the sub harness, and the connect the GREEN wire coming from the light to the RED wire on the short wire that connects to the sub harness). Since everything is color coded it would be nice if Add On fixed this problem in the new units being built.
As others have also mentioned there isn't a "saddle bag filler" on the GL1800, all you have to do is remove the rear panel holding the license plate. Additionally, you DO NOT have to remove the passenger backrest, which I couldn't find instructions on how to do in the Honda GL1800 2006 - 2008 Service Manual. You should use a fish (I used a wire hanger that I straightened) to snake the long wire set (the one with the square green connectors on the end) to the set of connectors behind the rear panel.
Other than the items mentioned above and the poorly shot photos on page one of the installation instructions, the installation is truly "plug and play."
Note that after installation my Kisan TailBlazer Rear Brake Running & Spoiler Modulator operates just as it did with the original spoiler light (i.e., rapidly pulsates the spoiler light whenever the brakes are used).

ok, this produc-to, (smile) a good one, a good price, BUT- of course a problem -the lights that actually brake & stay on were switched from the factory & they won't come on properly so i finally got a hold the techman & found this info out later, after i had sent a set back to wingstuff, i just thought i had a bad one,but again all you have to do is switch the red & green wires in the trunk that comes from the light itself, & they will work light they should have in the first place, my, my , my---somebody was not paying attention when they made a few of these, wake up, wake up -get it right for us people (smile of course) later!

Nice easy install. Also installed Hondaline Spoiler at the same time. Both look and function great. Whole install took about 1.5 hours. Quick turnaround from Wingstuff on both of these items.

A great buy. I agree with others that feel this should be the original light that comes with the spoiler. Fairly easy install. Removing the filler plate under the license plate is always a little tricky trying not to snap off any of the retaining tabs. Great safety feature.

Easy install just follow the instructions. I did find one bad connector on the light that had a bad crimp. Also when the engine is not running one of the turn LEDs is very dim. I am the first in may GWRRA chapter to have this setup.

There is no such thing as a saddlebag filler. What you do have to remove is the rear fender between the saddlebags. This is the part that holds the license plate. Once this is figured out the rest of the installation is a snap. Plan on an hour as you have to remove the seat and seat back, inner trunk lid, (watch out for all those little screws) rear fender, and spoiler. Easier to use a fish to get the wire harness through to the rear wheel area. Great fit, good engineering, and looks like a great safety item.
