This is a good trailer hitch and appears to be very strong. Like that it is vertical and when I am not using it I can remove it it without seeing anything on the bike. I'm using this to attach my rack/bag set-up when we go on road trips. Be sure to download the wingstuff step by step picture instructions found on the order page of this hitch. The one less star is because the manufacturer instructions in the box were poor. Would buy again

Installed on 2009 GL1800 Instructions worthless, looked like printed on very old printer. I suggest you download the instructions provided by a fellow biker. I liked the H design but be prepared to crowbar the saddle bags apart to make some room. The with of the hitch back bar will set the saddlebags out about 1/4" making it difficult to put the rearend finder back. But all in all it was a good purchase.

My experience installing this item left me feeling that it was everything the product description said it was. My mechanical qualifications are very much, "middle of the road", making me "average" I suppose. I had no help whatsoever during the install, and yes, there were times when I wished I had three hands, when trying to move one side or the other, 1/16th of an inch, to line everything up. Yes, I had to "walk away", when things would get a little tedious, but in the end, I still had all fingers and toes, when the job was finished. I definitely appreciated the directions provided by Wingstuff, because the directions that came with the hitch, were a joke. In the end, I would not only recommend this hitch to other's, I would purchase it again, if the need were there. Be safe everyone!!

No problem installing mine. It fit easy and comes on and off easy for tire changing. I would and I'm sure I will buy it again.

I did not have to remove the muflers. This hitch did not fit perfectly. I coule not replace the rear mudguard, so I had to rework it a little bit. It was worth it in the end. I will buy it again, even though it was no bolt-on!

Installed this hitch on my 2008 and brothers 2006. I recommend removing the mufflers no problem taking off or putting back on. Took about 2 hrs per hitch. Seems to be well built. Had to modify my bracket for my Kuryakyn LED Debris Rear Mudflap. Over all not to hard to install.

After reading the previous reviews and feeling particularly lazy, I took the bike to the shop to have this installed. I also took the additional installation instructions that I printed from this site. The shop only billed me for an hour for installation and they only bitched a little about the installation so it could not have been that bad. Appears to be well constructed and feels extremely sturdy.

I love the design and price of this hitch. What I don't like is the fact that I had to do a lot of tweaking, pushing, and prying to make everything line up. Seems like it will work well though.. I'm pulling a trailer from Virginia to Florida next week..

Great product and installation was not to difficult. The provided written instructions were fine, but the accompany photographs were terrible. I like the look of the product and hope that it doesn't break. But, like everything else on a bike; it is worth taking a look periodically to see how things are holding up.

Great fit for my 2004 Goldwing, took about an hour to install. Download the instructions and study them before starting. No need to loosen the mufflers or mounts it fit perfect and looks great.

I bought and installed this hitch 4 years ago. I felt I should revisit my earlier 5 star review. The hitch had worked perfectly until this spring. We were on our way to Deals Gap, NC to ride the Dragon again when I noticed slop and heard some noise in the hitch area. Inspection found the unit broken completely in all joints except one. We were one piece of metal away from losing it all... and it was cracked! I thank God that we were near our super friends at the #1 Tri-County Cycle in Corbin, KY. They rewelded and added some bracing to the unit. It appears to be better than new. Close to another 8,000 miles and so far so good. In defense of the hitch, we ride a lot of miles and generally the trailer is loaded pretty heavy. Plus, we all know there are some really rough roads out there. Will we buy another one next year on our next Wing? Not sure, probably will look for a heavier unit if there is one. If not, we might add the bracing to the new one before installing it.

This was an easy install thanks to the "updated installation instructions" .... All of the holes lined up and everything fell into place including the black navagation box. While everything was apart I also installed the Harness with the isolated relay. The entire process took less than two hours.

Great deal! I bought one and installed. A bit over an hour install especially with new download instructions. Knowing your wing and bit of natural mechanical skill is helpful. Receiver has a locking bolt that gives the hitch a solid / no wiggle connection. Great for parade flags and coolers. Of course a trailer does exactly what it is told to do. P.S. Highly recommend the Traxxion suspension system! GL 1800s are great but Honda just plan screwed up on the suspension. Talk to Wing Stuff rep that has it on their bike. No way to describe the different. It is well worth the money! A real hard "Iron Butt" member.

It looks like a good product. I bought a trailer on ebay and am going to pick it up and see how good the hitch is. Fairly easy install, took me about 3 hours. A good part of the time was getting the fender on. The tabs on the fender didn't align with the holes and had to worble the tab of the left bar to the inside and pulled the saddle bag in with the long nose needle nose pliers and tightened it up. That took care of the problem. Use the long nose vise grip pliers to hold everything in place when placing the forward bolt, really helps keep the alignment.

Installed one on my "08", took about 2 hours. The next one I install on my friend's bike should only take about an hour. The packaged instructions were usless. The download instructions are better but after struggling with the arms I went to plan B. Do yourself a favor and remove the mufflers!! Attach the arms to the rear cross brace with 1 loose bolt and then you can lift the arms into place with minimal effort. With the arms in place attach the H bracket. I used a piece of wood cut a bit longer than the H bracket is wide to wedge the arms into alignment with the H bracket. After all the bolts were started I tightened the the 2 forward arm bolts first, then the 4 H bracket bolts, then the 4 clamp bolts on the cross brace and finally the 2 small lower side bag support bolts.I did have to slot the holes for the lower side bag support screws. Don't forget to paint where you grind and use high temp anti-sieze on the muffler bracket bolts. With the mufflers off you can change the final drive oil with ease and do some polishing.

I installed this on my 2006 Wing and it took about two hours. The directions were a bit of a challenge but once installed it worked out well. I also purchased the cooler rack, it's nice having the extra space.

Fit my 08 like a glove. No hammering, bending or drilling required.Didn't have remove half the stuff as mentioned in the directions. The shaft of a large # 10 Phillips screwdriver was a perfect pry bar to line up the last two bolts on the "H" shaped hitch mount. Can't waut to try out in 2 weeks going to Wing Ding M. Downloaded the additional instructions but it was still a tough install. Had to use a 2x4 to move hitch enough to get the bolts in.
