Had mine for a few weeks now. Installed it myself with a friend of mine. I was able to use a Dremmel to cut the hole in the trunk with it in place that saved allot of time, just take your time. The plugs weren't hard to find but make sure you here the click for a good connection. I had a problem after the first day of riding with the front harness plug loosening up witch caused a CB ERROR on my display. Do yourself a favor and secure the front connector with a small ti rap or wax string even if you here the click. I still can't figure out how that connector came loose. Best price from Wing Stuff and works great now. Whole new experience riding and communicating with the Buds. Thanks Wing Stuff!

Got my radio and OEM antenna for Christmas, and had AJ and his crew install them the first part of Jan.. A member of our club reported static, buzzing and short range with his, so was nervous about it as I don't do "not good" and didn't look forward to the hassle it it wasn't good.
So after using it successfully for a while now, I have no problems, and find it works great.
I wanted it for safety on solo rides on the big road, and bike to bike, but not many have em as they are so pricy. I use a Scala Q2 for bike to bike in my group, which is way good for a lot less bucks. I have both set up in my same helmet, two sets of ears and two mics. No problem to use and not hard to do.

This CB radio is a nice addition to the Goldwing. If you ride with a group, you definitely need a radio. While the Honda CB Radio is pricey, Wing Stuff's price is the best around. I had the radio installed, only because I needed it very quickly. The instructions are very clear and if followed, you should not have any problems. This radio works better than the one on my 2006 GL 1800.

Took about 3 hours to install with the help of a friend. A bit expensive I would say. Thanks Honda!!

This is a must for your wing especially if you are cruising with others and also makes your bike look complete. If you are adventurus like me you can install it yourself, it took me about 3 hours to install and I am novice at best. TAKE YOUR TIME! Make sure that you use all (3) filters, you have to do some searching to locate the front 2 but they are there. Great product and as always great service.

We put off installing this just like everyone else, because of the price. But it is cheap insurance and one of the most important "safety items" you will ever purchase. I can't tell you how many times it has saved us as well as others. Especially for those of us that ride in groups or at least one other bike.

Nice product. Way over-priced, but a must have if riding with other bikes. Directions are okay, but if you're going to install this yourself, recommend getting other instructions off the web as there are differences in bike models. This requires a lot of disassembly so take your time. Many bolts on the fairing assembly are different size so be careful with what bolts go back where. Will need a few hours to do this. Give 4 stars due to over-price.

Over priced for old technology. Works well though. Another way to hole the trunk is to melt it through form the inside with a heated hole saw

I agree with the other reviewers. The install is straight forward but takes time some don't try to do this quickly. The trunk does not have to come off as has been stated several times. The biggest problem is this thing is WAY OVER PRICED. This technology is entirely too old to be charging this high a price. I see the time coming where someone will make the basic same system and price it more reasonably and shut down this particular product. Four stars awarded simply because of ridiculas price. System works well and if you ride in groups alot it's a must have item.

A must have item. The hard part is to get past the price for 40 year old technology. Install is pretty simple, all plug and play. Like other reviews, no need to take off the trunk. I used a right angle drill with a forstner bit to drill through the trunk. Just take your time!! Great when riding in groups. Now no one can talk about me.

I haven't had a chance to play with the CB yet but the install was very straight forward based upon the reviews I read. The instructions as mentioned previously are not the greatest and I did not remove my trunk either. The CB is very plug and play so it was up and running in a very short while. I again want to thankt the previous reviewers becuase I didn't waste time looking for connectors that didn't match up. Everthing was a very easy install. I am pretty well mechanically inclined and already had a hole saw and other tools necessary for this job. My local dealer wanted eighty dollars for the install. Save yourself the money. It is straight forward.

Instructions not very good. Look for better ones at GL1800riders.com or google for them. That also goes for removing the shelter and all the trim. Don't pay a dealer, you will enjoy the installation - just put aside lots of time and read others instructions 1st.
Do NOT remove the trunk. You can get inside the box where it mounts and cut your big hole with a dremel - just watch out for the wires on the other side!

This is a great radio. Yeah, a little pricey...but worth it for the plug-n-play features. Installation not for thre faint of heart, but do-able. Truckers say they can't believe I'm talking to them from a motorcycle! Get the Honda antenna. It's the best.
